Re: CBR400rr NC23 Resto

Hi Blue , the bike had been under a tarp in someones back yard for 7 years, there was old petrol in the tank along with 7 years condensation, hence where the tarp was touching the tank it had eaten into it, once i got the tank off and emptied it , it was a mixture of petrol, water and rust but no leaks, was going to treat the inside with chemicals and liner but decided against that, instead i put it in a tank of distilled white vinegar , filled the inside and left it for 3 weeks, all i had to do then was pour it out and rinse it thro, the inside came up lovely, so took the outside down to the metal and undercoated,.

Re: CBR400rr NC23 Resto

I don't know how I'm seeing this thread for the first time. Awesome job so far, can't wait to see more. This is the most intensive restoration I've seen documented on here. I don't think I would have considered taking a project that wasted on, much respect, it's motivational! It's how I plan to spend my "leisure years".

Re: CBR400rr NC23 Resto

Struggled to find fork bushes the cbr, but found that the forkbush set from All Balls for a Honda VFR750f 1990 is a perfect match
