| Would We Like To See A New CBR400RR I know I mentioned this in another thread (the 750 one) but I wonder how many people would like to see a brand new 'straight out of the box' Baby Blade on the market.. I know I would... new with totally up to date specs.. its enough to make me drool...
I'm only little, and skinny, and I'm limited, due to my size, as to which bikes I can/will be able to ride safely... I would love to be able to ride the kind of bikes my other half has, once my 2 year licence restriction ends, but have had to accept that due to a severe case of short-ar*ed-ness I know this is really going to limit my choice of bike in the future..
So.. is there a market out there amongst new riders and us small people for a new CBR400RR? |

There is quite a big jump from the little CBR125s up to CBR600F let alone the CBR600RR. Some where on this planet exists 250s, but they died out long ago.

Loopy how short are you? I'm 5'4" and have no problems with my 929, even have the rear raised up a couple mm.

Loopy how short are you? I'm 5'4" and have no problems with my 929, even have the rear raised up a couple mm. | I'm 5'4" as well.. I have quite long legs but can only just touch the floor on the other halfs 95 Blade.. my real problem is that I have short body, and on the big blade I cant reach over the tank to get to the handlebars properly!!! the Ducati, with its smaller tank is fine.. I suggested ride height adjusters on his lordships Ducati and was banned from going anywhere near it
But its not only the height of the bike.. its the weight as well.. I'm under 8 stone and if a 'bigger' bike started to go over I very much doubt I would be able to catch it in time and stop it going.. I dropped my 125 in the garage when it caught me by surprise.. Maybe I should do some weights and build myself up a bit!!!
At the end of the day my baby blade is the perfect size for me.. I can put both feet flat on the floor without any problems.. and can reach everything For my 1st 'bigger' bike she was a sensible choice given my 'smallness' and I love her to bits.. |

I'd have one!!!! | The problem with the 125s are that they are too thin - both tyres are like bicycle tyres - we need something that has got a bit of meat on it sort of speak. Maybe base it on the old RC30 or even the NC30 but with a 400 fuel injected race lump? Quote:

Yamaha have a peach of an YZF R125 coming out too, no 400 but not far off. |

| Re: Would We Like To See A New CBR400RR As far as I'm aware there arn't any 400's in production anymore.. mores the pity.. they are perfect for people who have just passed their test as well as us 'shorties' .. I looked at the RVF400 when I passed my test but they were out of my price range, they are lovely though.. I also looked at the VFR400 but didnt like it.. the GSX-R400 and ZXR400 were ok if you found one with low milage, although according to 2 of our local garages they are harder to service and work on generally.. So I decided on a CBR400.. although it had to be the NC29 and not the NC23 as I preferred the tail section.. yes I know thats picky but the tail section on the NC29 is much nicer!!!! Once I had decided on the model next came the colour!!!! Yer.. I'm mega picky!!!! I didnt really want one in the red/blue/white colours unless I couldnt find anything else I liked.. 1st choice was the purple/yellow one followed the red/blue/white one... And then I saw mine.. She is done in the Urban Tiger colours and as soon as I saw her I knew I had to have her!!!!!! And now she is mine............... |

A vfr or cbr 400, you couldn't quite call it a "baby" hehe |

A vfr or cbr 400, you couldn't quite call it a "baby" hehe | How about 'toddler' blade then.. or 'teenager' blade.. although neither of those has quite the same ring to the name as 'baby' blade..... |

| Re: Would We Like To See A New CBR400RR CBR929RE,
Find you a CB-1 and track prep it. Its engine is out of the CB400RR from Japan. Pics of mine, are in the CBR400RR photos thread. Its an awesome track day bike! I did well in the WERA "D" classes on it. Although down on power to some, but the handling and braking is there.
Carolina 954,
Find your wife a CB-1! Great bike for beginners! Physically small, handles great, unintimidating power, (below 10 grand), very confidence inspiring! I know a guy that raced a RVF400. That bike is sweet and fast!
My goal is to now make my "1" look like a 'Blade! |
