Re: Honda CBR 400 Photos Thread!

I once had a Performance Bike magazine that had a CBR400RR project bike, and they put a big bore kit in it from TTS Performance! They unfortunately blew up the engine, but on some small track over there somewhere, they were kicking the pants off of bigger bikes! If only I had that big bore kit in my CB-1! OH MY...

How did the one run with the 444 big bore kit? Do you know what its horsepower was?

Re: Honda CBR 400 Photos Thread!

It ran very well and stll does...
sounded like no other CBR real rasspy.....
I think it was around 25 % increase in torque and around 66 bhp....
It was a while ago i could dig out the speck's.....
It is a sweet job tho.....
big bores are defo the way to go, No other motor pulls like a bored out one, Honestly you can't get a replacement for displacement

Re: Honda CBR 400 Photos Thread!

I can imagine how good it would sound! TTS use to have a 485cc big bore kit, but I dont see it listed on their website anymore. Thats the kit I would like to have! I use to talk to a guy that had this kit in his CB-1, here in the States. He said he had 72bhp! He said it was crazy fast! Oh the fun I could have with that many horses!!!

Re: Honda CBR 400 Photos Thread!

Here is the "Jadedblade"
First couple of pics are from before I modded it
Subsequent pics are 9 days later. Fastest build I've done so far.
It runs:
a Kerker can
NSR250 front end
VFR calipers
Wave discs front and rear
HEL braided lines
Ecliptech Shift-i system
TYGA RC211V Fairings in Carbon Fibre
Modded H4 55/60 Car headlamp bulbs with an Ecliptech Headlamp circuit to avoid burnt contacts
Green gauge lighting

Next major mod is to fit up 41mm USD forks from an RVF NC35 followed by a 444cc Stroker kit.

As far as roadbikes go we have a second NC29 that the wife has just purchased as well as her ZXR400H2 and CBR250R

Re: Honda CBR 400 Photos Thread!

Very nice! I have always wondered if an NSR250 front end would fit. Were there any problems, like head bearing, when you mounted that front end? The TYGA website, I have been looking at for awhile now. Their fairing kits are nice! How was the quality when you recieved them? I will have to modify to make them fit my CB-1. Is the 444cc kit, the one from TTS Performance?

Re: Honda CBR 400 Photos Thread!

No problems with fitting the front end. I'm switching to the RVF forks for a more modern look and for the beefier legs... I do a few stoppies as I also ride FMX and race SuperX and MotoX. The "nose picks" are causing the fork slider bushings to flog out rather fast.

The TYGA folks were fantastic, the kit finish was excellent and comes with a ton of parts, the fit was a pain in the ass the first attempt, then after that it was a breeze. They shipped it and had it to me in two day, Thailand to New Zealand! They also replaced a few bits I got wrong ( forgot my front end was NSR not CBR so the fender didnt fit so well) for free. The only thing I changed were the phillips head fasteners for hex head ones.

Yes to the TTS kit.

What's the 250 CBR like? I've only ever seen one on the road. I know they look the same in profile to the 400 but skinnier when looked at head on, but that's all I know about them.

Mileage reads as 59481 on a MPH speedo but when i bought it it had a KPH speedo and they changed it over for me so not sure which it means!!!

Any ideas on price? Sorry if this is wrong place, new to the boards

I hate the 250. My first road bike was a KR1s 2 Stroke so the 4 Stroke 250 is left a little lacking in the go department.
