Re: Bling for Baby Blades

I also found the one on the left which fits the baby blade.. the two on the right are the ones I want for my Z650.. its gonna cost £400 for a set of those as I have the twin front disc model and am converting the rear so it has a disc brake rather than the original drum brake (I bought a swing arm, wheel and rear disc brake off ebay for £40 )

I think waveys are ace..

Looks awesome, but qwill have to check the disc lock will still go through. (Goes through a treat on the old discs.)

Not sure though, may make the bike look a bit, well, girlie! The bike is already a bit curvy and effeminate as it is! (Not that I'm complaining! )

Don't you just "hate" having money (and a big list of things to buy), but not knowing what to spend it on first?

Ahh thats a good idea - I just got a new system put onto my Fireblade, its the Datatool S4 (System 4) Red - its really good and so simple to use.

Its Thatcham Cat 1 so your insurance might go down... I think it was £230 for parts and labour and within a year, my insurance drop would cover the cost.

If you want to get in touch with the fitter I used, send me a PM as he drives to your door and his work is second to none.

But yes, I also agree with Surf's Idea.. I think its more productive

Re: Bling for Baby Blades

What about an alarm that does all this......
  • American micro-chip technology alarm unit
  • 125dB siren
  • 2 tough chrome metal remote key fobs
  • Power off memory/auto-arming feature
  • Remote keyless engine starting (can be disabled)
  • Anti-hijack function
  • Bike locating function
  • Overtake warning
  • Silent alarm/immoboliser function
  • Blue/red flashing LED
  • Wiring kit including easy to follow instrustions
  • Presentation gift box
  • 12 month warranty
  • Features digitally recorded voice messages and speaker
  • WIRING DIAGRAM FOR YOUR EXACT MOTORCYCLE TYPE
The talking version will greet you with "Welcome to the ?????? alarm system", when you switch on your motorcycle. If your bike is touched it will first warn by saying "Please step away. This alarm system is armed" if they touch your motorcycle. If they persist the alarm will be activated. The alarm also will alert you if your alarm is not armed by saying "Please remember to arm the alarm".

or even this lot......

American micro-chip technology alarm unit
125dB siren
2 stylish and compact 2 way remotes with colour LCD displays and finished with chrome metal
Power off memory/auto-arming feature
Remote keyless engine starting (can be disabled)
Anti-hijack function kills the engine using the remote
Bike locating function
Shock sensor adjustment
2 way communication system keeps you aware. Should the alarm be triggered then the pager / remote control will vibrate and make a sound, even if you are 3 miles away!! These will aso display the status of the bike, i.e ignition on
Vibration alart on pager fob. Unlike the datatool snitcher you do not need a separate mobile phone contract. This is free air time!
Detailed users guide
Overtake warning ( is optional )
Silent alarm/immoboliser function
Blue flashing LED shows its armed
Built in clock on remotes
Wiring kit
Presentation gift box
12 month warranty
WIRING DIAGRAM FOR YOUR EXACT MOTORCYCLE TYPE

Not 100% sure why you would need a "Presentation gift box" for an alarm thats going to protect your bike

Just make sure its Thatcham Cat 1 - When I bought my Hornet, it has a S3 Datatool Alarm System on it so I remained loyal and went with the S4 which is I must add very good.

Quote:
Apart from all the other quality features normally associated with a Thatcham approved alarm (3 year guarantee, Programmable alarm features, PIN Code over-ride etc.), the S4 has the option of adding a radio linked P.I.R. to trigger the alarm before the bike has been moved! The earlier generation of Datatool alarms were only either part resin bonded (S3) or not bonded at all (VETO etc). The S4 is fully resin bonded and this eliminates unreliability due to water ingress or vibration.
Don't forget, the more fancy things you have, the bigger the posibility of something going wrong. Are the alarms from a known make?

I presume its in a gift box incase you want to get it as a pressie for someone

The security company which does them has been manufacturing them for 21 years.. they have some very good testimonials on their website..

Re: Bling for Baby Blades

While I could be wrong, I'm of the opinion that if you had an alarm that talked, your biggest problem wouldn't be theft it would vandalism! The non-talking version is probably your best bet.

Also, being honest, have you ever liked a product so much that you've actually written a testimonial for it? I haven't, so I never believe them.
