| NC23 and NC29, what parts are interchangeable? Morning,
As the title says, doe anyone know what parts are interchangeable between the two models? I was thinking of trying to mate the NC29 fairings onto my NC23. |

| Re: NC23 and NC29, what parts are interchangeable? You'll meet a bit of difficulty. There isn't too much similarity between the models. For some reason Honda decided to make it hard for a change.
Tank is different (mounts differently too) and the fairing holds are different. Subframe is different ergo the mounting points will probably be skewiff too.
A possibly way to circumnavigate this is to make your own brackets. I had damaged fairing on my NC23 with some critical mounting points broken off so I went to Bunnings (tool shop) and bought some malleble brackets. Drill some holes, twist it into shape and hey presto. |

| Re: NC23 and NC29, what parts are interchangeable? Yeah the frames are different, air intakes go through the frame differently. Even the bloody ignition coils are stored under the headstock on the 29 versus under the seat on the 23. From the ground up alright!! |

The engines are certainly interchangeable. Mine uses a NC29 chassis but with a NC23 engine. I originally thought this was due to the Thai's just slapping together whatever they had in the parts bin, but if you check out the Uk Grey import site for 400s they actually show the chassis and engine numbers go from NC23s across the broad, then on to a combination of engines from NC23s and chassis from the 29s, then to everything being NC29s. I can't find the bloody site ate the moment so I can't post it up, but I think Loopy knows it. |

| Re: NC23 and NC29, what parts are interchangeable? The engines may bolt in but the frame design is different insofar as component location and routing of air to the filter. Take a squiz at the steps for respective models in your Haynes man-well. |

I think live links get removed.. |

| Re: NC23 and NC29, what parts are interchangeable? Good question. I think you should be able to add a space in the address and don't put the www bit in. That might work or you could pm me |

| Re: NC23 and NC29, what parts are interchangeable? If we make a thread for useful web addresses and companies who are good for CBR400 parts, (might be handy for all of us as our bikes are older and as such it can be more difficult to find parts we need), can it be made into a sticky one so it stays at the top of the forum and doesn't get lost.. |
