got a race track "have a go day" im planning to attend this weekend, just wondering what everyones ideas are for preperation on the bike, me and my gear.

i have done this event once before but was very short notice and i didnt get much chance to organise my bike or myself.

my mates also coming along, his bike is out of action but hes gonna share with his fathers R1, really would like to beat him but dont like my odds, also got some other aquaintances coming along on an aprilia rs 250, fzr1000 and cbr 250, im getting really amped about it!!

Fuel, good tyres, safety wiring done, tape, tools of course. Food, and drinks (non alcoholic of course). Extra cash, never know what you'll find out there for sale.

Check with the organization to see what they require. Most don't require safety wiring until you're in the Advanced group, but it's still a good idea to do it if you have time. All orgs may have slightly different requirements, best to check with them. Basics are remove mirrors, disable brake light. Tape over all lights. Pull the plug/fuse on the headlight, too, so the tape doesn't melt to it. Good idea to replace antifreeze with distilled water/water wetter. Check that all bolts are tight, especially the oil plug/filter. Have newish tires.

Bring lots of water and gatoraid (or some type of electrolyte replacement).

and don't race each other. bad things will happen. just go out and have fun. a trackday is supposed to be a non-competitive environment.
