I can't remember off the top of my head, I know it only moves a tiny bit when I start her up at the moment, but seeing as it's cold out there she will stay cooler easier.. I'll have to take a look tomorrow..
Your temperature gauge sender could be up the shoot, but then again it's fecking cold outside at the moment and I've not noticed anything odd about my bike...... Apart from the fact that she runs like she is on steroids when its chilly and damp

If you don't already have a manual for your bike I'd suggest you buy one.. I've had a look at the section about testing the sender and it's not the easiest thing in the world to do without the accompanying photos in the manual..
