Speedo Conversion

I've been searching all over for the answer to this question but as of yet I have had no luck...so here goes.

I have removed my standard clocks from my CBR400 NC29 (origanlly the bike reads in KPH) and was thinking about using a MPH mechanical speedo. I know that if I use a speedo converter on a KPH clock it will give me a MPH reading.

But if I use a MPH clock and run it straight from the origanl speedo cable on the bike with no KPH-MPH converter, will i get a my speed reading MPH, or will it still be in KPH?

think the only difference is the clock face....

Thats what I was thinking.

Think it'll have to be case of "suck it and see"

oh! and did remember another difference.... the gearing for the Odo
... if you just change the face... the odo still counts up in KMs....

Yeah, the ratio will stay the same on the clock, tho depending on the overlay it can still be read in MPH

I've got a mph convertor that goes between the clock and speedo cable
then it reads in mph
