| Fork seals for 98 shadow 600 Anybody work on the old cruisers in here?
A friend of mine stores his shadow in my garage and he dropped it off yesterday. He is a beginner rider and had some parking sticker stuck on his fork where it should not be...
Anyway the left hand fork with the sticker definitely needs new fork seals due to the sticker or age, I don't really know. The right hand looked a little gummy too. I don't know it is just from bearing the brunt of the suspension on it's own or if it is shot too.
At any rate, he isn't a big income guy. I'd like to help him out, at minimum I cn pull the tubes off and bring them in but I was debating whether I could just get the parts and do it myself. I recall by brother doing fork seals on his first bike (I think it was an 85 shadow). Will I need special tools etc. Where is a good source for a seal kit and possibly an online site that show the process or something? |
