| For all you former CX500 riders Hi Y'all,
My name is Christian and this is my first post here - I have been riding mostly Jap bikes over the years and have more recently settled in on a very low milage CX500 for my commuter bike (50miles a day). It has been a good experience and the milage has been excellent. As the weather on the front range of Colorado has warmed up, my temp gage has been moving up as well. For those who remember their 500's, the temp gauge has a fairly wide 'safe' zone before it hits the red. My bike is staying within the 'safe zone' but it is plain that the thermostat is no longer able to regulate it as it did in the cooler weather. My question is simply whether this is normal behaviour on these bikes or not. I have verified that the fan is good, the radiator was flushed and found to be in good shape and I just changed out the thermostat. If this is not normal, then my next guess would be the water pump, which I am hoping to avoid. Does anyone have any sage advice on this out there - thanks in advance... c.S. |
