Vintage parts source?
I need some stuff for the 1984 Ascot and needless to say no one has stuff in stock I would like to give it a thorough going through which will run a bit of $$$ However places like Ron Ayers does not go back to 84 as far as I can tell.

I found http://www.crotchrocket.com that lists them but know nothing of them. Any suggestions on sources for parts? I need signal bases, maybe a case cover, maybe suspension, and some brake parts to get it back up to snuff.

I don't know what the alphanumeric designation for the Ascot is but Motorcycle Parts, Motorcycle Accessories by BikeBandit.com goes back that far.

edit: did a little searching and came up with FT500 and VT500FT. you have the VT right? either way bike bandit doesn't list them

Yep my Ascot is the '84 VT500FT (water cooled twin) rather than the FT which is a thumper (cool bike)

Try calling Cycle Recycle I have used tham to find parts for the 80' CB 750 before with good luck.

OK so the credit card says I can order some Ascot parts tonight I think I found an even better place Honda-Direct but know nothing of them. Being ultra paraniod I am wondering if anyone has had dealings (PM'ed one member on this) with them? I need some parts for my '84 so things are a bit spotty and require special order for everything. They seemed to be up on the old stuff a bit better.

got my parts in tonight. Quick at a decent price. Suprised that it came as fast as it did as I ordered a side case for an '84. The only thing not available is a front brake line as Honda has discontinued it.
