Hey guys. One of my friends just bought an 85 Honda Shadow 1100. It has a knob that comes out on the left side of the bike next to the fuel shut off valve. Its in a position so that you could reach down and adjust it while you where riding the bike. It has a wire that goes to the back of the bike and then one that goes up to the front and comes out on the handle. On the handle it has a jack that you could plug it into a computer or something. We cant figure out what this is for. Hopefully one of you guys are familiar with an old beater like this.

odds are the handle by the fuel knob is the "choke knob" the othere stuff no clue probably some type of wiring done to put extra lights or the like that werent witht he bike when you got it...


I have an 86 intruder and the choke is on the left side close near the fuel knob....and it has more wiring adjustments than carter has little liver pills....so much so that in order to do any work on it i have to actually trace the wire from point a to point b....if it wouldnt look funny i would keep the tags that I put on it when i am working on it....yeah i could picture riding downt he road with a tag at the begining of the wiring that says horn to the under the seat and then under and around all saying horn...trust me the things that people do to the bikes is amazing and a bike as old as these ones....well people have done manythings for many different reasons...
