Re: The Tick

A little surpirsed at the lack of response, this subject is all over the sabrehood forum. Well, I too have had and still have the tick. The Tick developed around 15K miles and sounded like to spoons clacking together. I found numberous posts from all sorts with all sorts of solutions, from changing the oil to a heavy weight rotella to pulling the engine. I tried seafoam and changing to amsoil 10w 40 but it enver worked like it had for some so I went to the shop were I bought it, to make a long story short they found the oil galliers clogged and drilled them out as suggested from a honda bulletin. Also, the gasket between the case and the cylinders had the infamous hole that was smaller then the oil galley it served. I thought this was my final fix but it just came back around 25K miles and to say the least am ready to trade it in. If any one has any solutions or have come across this I would like to hear from them.

Jim

Re: The Tick

Maybe its just something to do with the Honda Sabre?

My 954RR makes a lot of racket, if it stopped I would be worried!

Re: The Tick

Hi I have a 1983 V45 Magna and had the same problem after I would hit redline while going through the gears. Then I installed the oil mod kit now no more tick. The oil mod kit ranges in the price range of $250 to $400 depending on which brand you choose to purchase. I purchased mine from Classic parts inc. on ebay for I believe it was $270.
