CX650 wiring woes

I'm looking for help with a wiring issue on my 1983 CX650 Custom. The 3 yellow wires coming from the alternator and going to the Reg/Rect have either melted or corroded apart. This is the second time over the course of about a year and a half that I've had this problem. I figure it may be a bad ground but I'm looking for suggestions on where to start.
