Turn Signals/Neutral Light/High Beam

My 1984 Honda Shadow 700 has developed a new twist -- this time it's the turn signals, neutral light indicator and high beam indicator. After a rain recently (couldn't get home to cover it), went for a ride and found that when I signaled left, the right front blinker went on, and stayed on, while the left front was dark. The opposite occurred too, and I had to cancel the signals a few times to get both fronts to stay lit. The neutral (green) light on the panel won't come on in neutral, and the high beam indicator stays on (even if the high beam is not on) until I put her in 1st. The oil light doesn't light either...this has me puzzled. The headlight and tail lights work. The license plate light works, but something is up! Can't see a burned out bulb, and the fuses appear fine (but I am no electrician)...any ideas? Could there be moisture somewhere which will dry away in a day or two? Thanks!!

Sounds like you should park it in the sun for a while.

I am thinking the same...Battery was at full power, and we finally have a patch of war sun coming. Failing that, is there anything else I should check? Any certain wires to jiggle with? Thanks!

Re: Turn Signals/Neutral Light/High Beam

If it started doing it just after it got wet, getting it dry should fix it unless it was still wet when you turned everything on, then maybe something could have shorted out, then, good luck. Sounds like you checked everything else. I'm sure there is a brain in that bike behind the headlight or something that could be changed out. I'll check my service manual and get back to you.
