83 magna v45 carbs no power lagging

well i picked the bike up from an army chaplin that deployed to iraq and it was in great shape i took the carbs out when i first got it cause one of the idle jets were cloged i also checked a few of the other jets while i was in there it was clean as clean can get. my problem is now i was getting the lag at 6000rpm so i read around on the forums and added the 3mm washer it seemed to get worse also during the last carb removal to do that the hose to the rear tank got a hole and sprayed gas all over fixed that no rust in the tank almost perfect bike. i guess the main problem is that it is shuddering under a load it is almost like it is running lean but i dont know where to go now it starts at 3500 and carries bad till 7500 then takes off it has enough power to raise the front wheel when you dump the clutch but as soon as you get on it hard (full throttle ) it does gain but slowly sounds like it is not getting enough fuel but i dont know. i ve worked on these v4s for about a year now this one has got me good my sabre is one of the meanest bikes around. it idles and runs great untill i get on it. if i missed anything ask i m trying to not take it to the shop searched all the posts on here and cannot find one with the same probs as mine. hope some one can help

sounds like it's running rich.......check to ensure the needles are good and the tips arn't corroded or broke off at the tip....maybe try to check the setting on the main needle clip, do you have it on the third groove? maybe try to move up a notch and try it......

make sure you didn't accidentally miss completly cleaning your main jets....

best i can do bub, good luck
