Smoke from Exhaust

Hi Everyone..Fisrt timer to posting a thread..Well I recently changed my pipes to Vance and Hines on my Honda Sabre. Put on new gaskets and all bolts and nuts were secured. The problem is when I start the bike I see whitish gray smoke coming from near the exhaust port about 2 or 3 mins after I have started the bike. I also see water residue spurting out of the pipes. Could anyone of you provide some info on what I need to do to stop the smoking and the water spurts.Thank you in advance.

Re: White smoke from exhaust

If there was nothing like that going on with the old pipe, then I would not expect that it is head gasket related. Perhaps it is oil on the pipe from manufacturing processes being burned off, or maybe it is just condensation.

Don't panic. Run it for a week and see what happens.

Re: Smoke from Exhaust

new pipes have to be run so they burn off the manufacturers protective coatings from the pipe, what your seeing is normal and will go away the more you ride it.
