where to find parts?

obviously there are a million parts sites out there, basicly I want to skip the mess of sorting through them all and use you all for your knowledge on who to go through for good prices and reliability.

my bike is a 1985 honda shadow VT700c. I can find a lot of parts on e-bay but not quite everything I need. like my choke cable and my blinker relay. I also dont want to be raped for the price (can you blame me?)

I have a 85 Shadow VT1100c & the last boss of the local shop said the to part it or scrap it. A co-worker & rider recommended BikeBandit dot com. I needed a fuel pump which Honda doesn't make anymore but BikeBandit had it, cheap too. The only hard part to find was the fuel cut (relay) switch, I found that on ebay. I bought after talking to Honda in Ca. to verify that the part from an 86 model is compatiable with my 85.
I logged in 100 miles this past March, but I get it back this week.

actually talked to the a couple local parts stores this morning and its amazing the discounts they will give you if you can cite a lower price elsewhere just to keep your bussiness. thanks for the help. saved me 18$ on my first new part purchase.

looking up the exhaust parts I need $663 for the mufflers with the chamber, thats more than I paid for the bike. are there aftermarket mufflers I can put on this without messing up the bike? I dont want to do damage by improper back pressure etc. but are there straights or non chambered exhausts I can get for a bike this old? I'm pretty sure the answer is yes but I like to check and be aware of possible consequences, (aka potential damage to the bike/motor )
