Above 3200rpm runs flat -Help-

Need some help - above 3200 rpm bike falls flat. 86 v65 9k original miles and taken care of. I bought the bike 6 months ago and had the carbs copleltely gone through. for 800 miles runs perfect love this bike. I noticed all of a sudden my warm ups were shorter and falling flat at 3000, I figured "Lean" put in new fuel filter. While filter was off, turned on key to make sure fuel pump was working (looks good). Spark plugs look very good and consistant.
At an idle exuast all run the same temp. Idle seems good. This bike has always been babyed I don't think it has ever seen 7,000rpm.

Re: Above 3200rpm runs flat -Help-

hello, i would start with the fuel,it sounds fuel related.I had a similiar sounding problem. My bike would idle fine and have good rpm range will in neutral.Driving down the road it would be fine until i got into the throttle, around 4 thousand rpm.It would fall flat.I looked at everything but the carbs "because i just did them". Unfortunately, i had to use a dap of silicone to hold my new bowl seals in "they were deformed".After a few hundred miles is when the problem started.A smalll piece of silicone was plugging a jet. That will teach me for not using a gas friendly product.I was also embarrassed because i know better.Sounds familiar, hope this helps troubleshoot
