Seafoam anyone? Has anyone ever used seafoam in their bike? Just trying to find out how it went, if it worked, problems. I have some pinging and knocking going on. I've checked everything else.

Re: Seafoam anyone? Regular and then I was having problems so I ran the super, then I had more problems and I added some additives. Now I'm pretty sure that I have some carbon build up. I've replaced the fuel filter, checked the fuel valve and screen, checked the hoses, and the fuel pump. If this doesn't work, it's off to the shop.

Re: Seafoam anyone? If you were runnin only 87 in it then that most likely was causin spark knock (pre-detonation). Bikes usually run 92+. You might need to go through a tank or two of premium to get all the lower grade out of the system...that should reduce the knock.

Re: Seafoam anyone? When I give it any kind of gas, it stalls out. It'll idle and I can hear it knock, but you can't ride it at all.

Re: Seafoam anyone? How's the gas milage been recently? If it's been really horrible that could be another sign of a bad FPR. If it's bad it's basically flooding the engine.

Re: Seafoam anyone? It was introduced to me when my bike stalled 5 miles after refueling with non-ethanol based fuel - tank, still had 3ths of ethanol based. Apparently the non-eth fuel knocked crap off the inside & blocked something. A bike neighbor gave me his can of Sea Foam said to follow the directions - 1 tbs per gallon, and rocked the bike "to mix" it around and I let it sit overnight. Yes it backfired a few times and was rough for about 15 min., after that it ran. Now I use it every few tanks full then go for a 50 mile ride.
