First Bike / Commuter

Hey there, have always wanted a cruiser. And now it looks like I might be able to get one. This will be my first bike (35 years old).... Would like a Shadow and would use it for my 40 mile commute here is Southern Cal. Any thoughts? Would the 750 be ok? I am looking at used..

Thanks for your help!!

Re: First Bike / Commuter

I have a 2000 Honda Shadow seems like decent bike handles well good for commute and in the city too. Has enough power and I think you will like how it opens up on the highways. also you can find some nice stuff to dress up your bike if you like. Let me know once you get the bike would like to hear back

The Shadow 750 is capable for your needs, as long as you don't insist of cruising over 70 or so. Any saddlebags will fit and other options are widely available. I've currently got 2 of them and they do the job just fine.

Re: First Bike / Commuter

I use my 750 for my commute sometimes. It works nice. If it's your first bike, the 750 is a nice fit. Not too small, not too large.

Over here we had the courier bikes... Most used are the GPZ500S, GS500 & CB500 (although the last two don't have much wind protection).
