Unslow's RR2 Revamp.....kinda.

So my buddy Casey was kind enough to make a 4hr trip to my domicile for a visit back in December. We exchanged stories, some grub, took him to my younger sons hockey game, and he dropped off his 2002 Honda 954 (aka RR2).

He had mentioned some time ago that he would like to have his frame finished, and properly polished. The previous owner had haphazardly polished SOME of it, but not all of it. So I mentioned one day that I would do it for him. That turned into an exchange of "really"?, yes, "are you sure"?, yes.......... you just need to get it here.

So we made it happen. Had a great visit, and I have a 954 in my garage. The best thing is that Casey has kinda given me free reign to do what I feel is necessary (or at least I can bring attention to the items that drive me crazy )

So, it's only February and I have a lot of work ahead of me. I'm looking forward to it.

This drives me nuts every time I go in the garage. I'll have to clean that up for him:

Nope... looks like pure rubbish that is going to catch on fire at any moment =) I'll swing up to the frozen north and pick it up as to make sure I keep him safe =)

I look forward to this one!

I was kinda hoping you would be asleep by now, and wouldn't see it until tomorrow, when I had ALL the trashy pics up

Just remember, you RIDE your bikes, not HIDE them like I do

Which is one reason why RR2 is UNtidy at the moment. I didn't allow you to conduct your usual season ending clean up/ maintenance. Not to worry bud, I'll take care of it.

So that's what it's coming down to? If you can't find a project of your own, steal someone else bike as a project?

Re: Unslow's RR2 Revamp.....kinda.

So it's no secret that RR2 is a road warrior, with Unslow previously having an extended swinger and a stunt cage on. Those bits have been tossed, in favor of a more "original" look. He has always said that he and RR2 have been through a lot together. I'm not here to take any of that away. I mean seriously, how many of us would allow another guy to work on their favorite ride? I have the utmost respect for him allowing me to do what I do. After all, we met on the internet. We all know how that usually works out Probably more nervous working on it than my own 900's. I surely don't want to let him down.

All that being said, RR2 is not without some issues. Minor stuff, stuff that makes me crazy, stuff that other guys would dismiss as "workable", or "not bothersome". I'm going to do my best to make this mild "clean up" as interesting as possible.

Pretty sure Casey won't be around here again to pick it up for some time. That should allow me the time to get done what I can.

Nothing earth shattering or "mod" crazy, just applying my love to make things as clean and as right as possible (with ZERO budget).

Enjoy the pics, Ta la for now

3 years ago? The ride that started our recent annual visage to Bear Mt.

Small stuff, like this:

I'm beginning the "frame work" with the subfame. Easiest to manipulate, and will be good test to see how RR2 responds to the treatment.

Got the tray out, only 2 scraped knuckles

Got all the removable pieces off the frame

PO's attempt:

C'mon Mike, you do the same work as me. You just need to make time. BUT, it's a 10 or so hour drive. You get it here, I'll pencil you in for June
