I need a good epoxy compound...

I have a small chunk of aluminum that broke out of my crankcase when I dropped it. I had glued it back in with JB weld, but it seeped oil. I tried to solder it back in, but solder won't stick. This chunk fits back like a puzzle piece, which is good, but I need something better than JB weld. I don't want to buy another engine over a little piece of aluminum where the side cover mounts! I know I'm not the first...

You'll need to get it welded back in.

Good job! I'm afraid to weld aluminum, myself. Hopefully, somebody around here can do it without poking my eyes! Thanks for your help with this and the alternator rotor. The rotor sprang off the crankshaft like a bolt off a crossbow!

I hear what you're saying. I had a local guy do mine, and watch out for flying flywheels
