Re: HTEV Question

I know a couple of you were joking about how you could hear the valve rattling. I was just wondering what it sounds like to you guys. Why I ask is, I couldn't hear it before when I had just my 2Bro's slip-on, on the bike. Now that I have the PCIII and devil hi-mount fitted I can hear something rattling when rolling off the throttle. Any insight?

Re: HTEV Question

I always heard some ratlle at 5000K. But it got much worse since I put my Jardine slip-on.... Seems to make the things vibrate more.... But It's still at 5000K, off or on throttle.

Re: HTEV Question

I didn't hear it at all before. Is there a way to keep it open so I can tell if that is really what I'm hearing?

Re: HTEV Question

I don't know how wise it would be to do this, but:

The 929 has a jumper block that is used to calibrate the position of the HTEV. If you jumped that it would stay 'open' all the time. I'm not sitting in front of my service manual now so can't tell you where it is, unfortunately.

Re: HTEV Question

hmmmm, I thought that jumper was for the flapper, not the HTEV. I might be wrong. I'll check the manual tonight. I can hear the HTEV rattle exactly at 4500 RPMs (everytime).

Re: HTEV Question
