| Re: A serious Stupid question Ok, I was asked the other day by a bud of mine that has owned a 929 for a few years this, but being fairly new to the 929rr, I did not knopw the answer, so here it is.
'What is the difference in a 929rr and a Fireblade?'
Is 'Fireblade' another name for one, or is it like a special model? |

| Re: A serious Stupid question It's not a stupid question at all. You'd be surprised at all the folks that come on this site thinking it's a general motorcycle forum and then find out that it's CBR 900, 929, 954 specific because they don't know what a Fireblade is.
I, too, was educated about a Fireblade by this very site. |

UHUHM! (clears throat)
So Its just another name for our bikes? So the 'fireblades' title here and some of the stickers are in referrence to our imported cousins, or are we the redheaded stepchildren trying to look in the window at those at the dinner table? |

| Re: A serious Stupid question As a small aside, I understand that the Japanese men in suits had decided upon the name 'Fireflash' for the bike, but that Honda UK Marketing guys talked them out of it. They were convinced that the public would rechristen the bike the Honda Fire-f-lash-up', eventually just being shortend to Lash-up. So Fireblade it became.
As another aside, over here in Euroland your Superhawk is called the Firestorm. A surprising choice I thought considering what the Allied bombers did to Tokyo towards the end of WWII. |

ratter1 : Actually honda australia sell our fireblade/cbr954 as a CBR900rr
| My registration shows my '01 929 as a CBR900RRL1. They're all that way aren't they? Aside from the designator at the end ... ? |

| Re: A serious Stupid question Louisiana registers it as whatever you say it is within reason. My registration says 929rr, but I could have said 900rr or 'fireblade' and they wouldn't have cared. |

| Re: A serious Stupid question In Canada the Fireblades are tri-colored, where a 929rr only has 2 colors. The Fireblades also have Fireblade decals on them. As far as the bike itself there is no difference that i know of, just different graphics. |

| There are a few minor differences like theft-deterrent ignition, 'brow' lights, and the 'flash-to-pass' headlight switch...none of which found their way on US models.
Did I forget anything? |

| Re: A serious Stupid question I have a canadian 2002 954 and it has no fireblades stickers on it. It looks exactly the same as the US version. They must've gone to the same model as US for the 954's. The only way to tell it's canadian is the vin # and the french owners manual. |
