Re: Traffic Tickets

I have seen several ticket questions in this forum.

My $.02

Always fight a ticket when you can. Cause if you are too far from home it may not be possible. It raises you insurance too.

It is your right.
It can be fun.
You will be no worse off. They cannot punish you more for fighting it.
When you win, it feels great.

Example:
I was going to work. 45 mph in a 35 mph posted zone. I followed the books instruction on how to win a basic speed law ticket and won. I used the officer to testify for me just as the book instructed. It was great. The officer came up to me afterward and ask if he could see the book, he was so suprised. Being an ass, I told him to buy his own. gloating

Buy this book. It has saved me thousands of dollars, well maybe not that much, but it payed for it's self many times.
I have fought all my tickets and lost only one since getting it.

Good luck and ride safe.

Re: Traffic Tickets

That book rocks! I beat 8/10 of my CA tickets with that book. *

I lost one because I slipped up in court. I admitted knowingly exceeding the speed limit while illustrating an emergency move I had to make avoiding being rear-ended by a semi.

The other was simply a corrupt judge that ignored everything I said and convited me (F-U very much S.J traffic court!&#33.

Otherwise that book was worth it's weight in gold. I wish they had one for this state!!!

Edit: Holy cow.. my fingers are on vacation today. . typo typo typo..

Re: Traffic Tickets

Similar thing on my only loss. The judge ignored the fact that sign was a yellow not white, ie suggested. I should have appealed .

RacerCutie,
What did you get cited for?

How does the officer testify for you? I would have loved to see the look on his face when he heard he had do that

He was actualy on the stand testifying against me. On cross I just asked him all the right questions, used him as my expert witness. Basicly to prove I was going at a safe speed, even if it was over the posted limit. Its all in the book, too long to explain here. It was great.

Re: Traffic Tickets

Quick question: how useful do you (who have/read/used the book) think this book would be outside CA? In other words, does the weight of the book lean on the CA code, or does it lean on general court procedures?

Not me, my hubby for something utterly ridiculous:
Two lanes, same direction, cars stopped at a signal light.
Hubby in the right lane approaching the stopped cars.
Slows to 10 MPH (it's also stated on the ticket) and rides between cars * - splitting lanes - and stops.
(Something every Cali rider pretty much does when safe - and not illegal).

Anyway, officer ahead of him already waiting at the same light on Hardley saw him, pulled him over for 'unlawful passing on the right'.
Lame - he was in the right lane - if he passed anyone at all, it was on the left.

Argued with the officer as he was surprised and pissed.
Officer then claimed he was weaving in between cars as well. (officer could not have even seen that as the officer was AHEAD of him at the time.)
lame lame lame * *
