Re: A question..

My blade had never fall on its sides and never had an accident. (thank god * )

Now if i stand directly behind the rear tire, the rear chainguard (which is above the rear sprocket) had MOVED to the outside (or away from the rear tire) a few cm. And the rear fender also moved a little bit.

The good ride of the machine is not affected (at least that's what i feel).

My paranoia is whether i am overlooking an early warning of a problem *

Few theories:

1. The vibration felt by the swingarm (which they're attached) from very rough roads.

2. Heat from the tire...?

3. Someone just pull it with their hand/hands....?

Thanks for any replies guys.

Re: A question..

Bolts are ok, not loose.

Rear tire straight? Hmm, the marker on both sides of the swingarm are spot-on balanced (the ones which we used to tighten the chain). No prob in riding, the bike still seems well balance to me, the machine did not sway left n right when i let go both my hands, turning and cornering almost perfect....

One of the mysteries of the universe hehe...

TQ.

Re: A question..

Are you sure it actually moved, or could it be that you are just now noticing that it is not perfectly aligned? Loosen the mounting bolts, reposition the guard, and retighten.

Just for future reference, the markings on the swingarm for alignment are notoriously off. It's better to measure the distance between the axle nut and a fixed point on both sides when aligning the rear wheel.

I'm curious about this. *I followed Abtech's advice the last time I adjusted my chain. * I used a ruler to align the bolts up with the end of the swingarm on each side. *After doing that, I measured the markings on the swingarm for chain-adjustment - they were spot on. *Are all 929s different in that regard? *

I aligned my rear using the same method and the indicators are off by about half a mark.

Same here. My first 929 was spot-on, and my Superhawk, second 929, and RC51 were all about a half-mark off, whether I measured to the end of the swingarm or to the swingarm pivot.

Re: A question..

My markings are off as well. Took me 45 min. to mount my rear tire 'cuz of this. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why it wouldn't mount right with the markings being in the same spot.
