| Re: Selling the 929 :( I have not used the forum for some time now but originally used to read this forum religiously when I purchased my 2000 929 in the latter part of 2001 up until the middle of 2002. *I received a lot of good advice and help regarding technical issues. *
Anyway I have to sell my baby to prepare for the purchase of a bigger home and a engagement ring. *I was just wondering what you guys recommended as far selling price and whether or not I should remove some of the mods to maximize my selling price.
It is a 2000 CBR929 blk/yellow with following mods:
- Full polished wheels
- Recent Metzler Sportec M1s
- Fender eliminator kit
- Hindle exhaust full system with oval carbon fiber canister (low mount)
- PC111 with Dan Kyle map
- Ebony frame sliders
- Black preload adjusters
- Tank protector
Bike is in excellent condition! *Others would say mint condition but I am a perfectionist so I will say excellent.
Bike has about 9200 miles with 3 year extender factory warranty that is transferable. *I think it expires in June of 2004.
What do you guys think?
Thanks! |

| Re: Selling the 929 :( I would recommend that you sell the pre-load adjusters to me!
But as to selling price, I think that you could probably get around $7000 out of it, maybe. Unfortunatly, with the 954 going to be discontinued, the price of the 954 and 929 are steadily falling in the resale value. Best of luck selling the bike, though.

| Re: Selling the 929 :( Definitely part out what you can, as for the bike itself... hard to say. $6-6.5? |

| Re: Selling the 929 :( yeah its tough out there....selling the 929/954.
If you decide to part out, I would be interested in your rims...maybe we can do a swap? I can send you mine plus a little cash and you can send me yours. Just a thought that might be able to recoup your losses. |

| Re: Selling the 929 :( NADA Wholesale/Trade-in prices are:
$5515 - $6150
Average retail is about $7600
Figure on getting about $7000 tops unless you find somebody who is dying to have a clean 929. New, left-over 954's are out there for about $8000-8200 so the 929's are a hard sell the closer you get to $8k.
If you still have the stock parts, I would suggest putting them back on. People expect a bike to have an exhaust so they're not going to want to pay a whole lot more for the one you decided to put on. Sell that stuff seperately and you will make more money. |
