Top Speed on a stock 929RR
Was wondering if anyone has had a top speed run on their 929RR on this board. Or if anyone knows exactly what our bikes top out at would be great to know!! Also please state if your bike was stock or not. I've heard around 165MPH or so on a stock 929RR. Guess must find a pretty long stretch off road and more to brake!

its gotta be faster than that... im a fat bastard (6'4" and 280lbs) and my completely stock 01 929 hits 130mph in 2nd gear redline REAL quick so i cant imagine 160ish would be too hard

I think you'll find you're redlining in 3rd @130mph.
but since you asked the fastest I've had mine is 293km/h stock which is about 175mph, that's indicated on the speedo, which aren't all that accurate at high speeds.

I wouldn't doubt that, that's probably true speed as opposed to the displayed speed, anyway 168 mph is bloody fast enough isn't it??

Hit 170 at redline on my 00 929 , and 172 at redline on my 03 954 . Ther is no tach on the xr but as fast as she would go was 105, felt alot faster on the xr though as everything was shaking and moving around a bit.

172mph at redline on your 954 must be with a speedo recalibrator, right? Here is a pic of 170mph on mine and it's not even close to redline yet.........

Wow!!!!! Thats fast! The fastest i've gone so far in my 01 is about 246 km/h so I guess I got a little bit more to go  Is our top speed limited by the ECU like on cars?? Also when we hit past redline is there a fuel cut off?

just the other day I hit (according to the speedo) 173 mph and I had not hit redline yet. I was a little over 11,000 rpm. Stock gearing with a D&D slip on. The funny thing is I blew by a cop  and he didn't even bother pursuing...

Wasn't there a chart done up on here that had speed vs. rpm for each gear? I'm kind of curious what speed I would've been going at redline in 4th gear on the front straight at Spokane Raceway.
