Re: Headlight Problems

I have a 2000 929 and the lights just didn't come on one day when I left work. They worked fine the night before and on the way to work that morning but when i left that night, no lights. fortunately i left during the daylight.

Currently, the blinkers come on and stay on, they don't blink. Brights do not get any juice but the little bit of wire in the regular headlight is orange like it's getting a little juice, but it's not bright at all. I had put some new bulbs in about 2 weeks prior to this happening.

So far I have switched the old bulbs back and checked the fuses, no change. I read another thread where a guy said his relays were bad so I replaced those (about $50 from ronayers) with no change. Now, i'm guessing it might be a ground problem, does anyone know where I can find out the voltages/resistances/etc or do I need to get a service manual? If I need the service manual, what's the best place to get one? ebay?

thanks for the help!

Re: Headlight Problems

when mine did this my starter switch wasn't returning all the way. I de-gummed it and the lights worked.

Re: Headlight Problems

bike starts up and runs fine, could it still be something with the starter switch?
