| Re: 929/954 Dogbones from Dan Kyle Maybe I missed something earlier, but why is Dan Kyle making dogbones? If it is to raise the rear of the 929 then I want one too. I need some rear ride hieght to assist in ground clearance issues. If anyone knows why Dan's dogbones are different, please let me know. |

| Re: 929/954 Dogbones from Dan Kyle should have a similar effect to the moriwak link on the RC51, right? If so, not only will it add ride height, it'll make the rear suspension travel more linear and not stiffen up the last 30% of travel...
Maybe, just speculating, but I suspect it'll have some sort of benefit like that... Just ride height you can get from a shock. |

| This is correct-- its actually kinked---not just shorter---Ill let Dan explain it--basically allows the shock operate in a more linear fashion |

| Re: 929/954 Dogbones from Dan Kyle I dropped by Dan's shop recently, and saw the first completed set. It will come with the link and the plates. It is a curved link (or dogbone) that is very very stout. So are the side plates. It is actually nicer quality than the stock pieces, much less an improvement in geometry.
If anyone is wondering what it will do, basically it will make the leverage ratio more linear for bikes that are used on the track, and aggressively on the street. |

| Re: 929/954 Dogbones from Dan Kyle Any idea if it's going to add any rear ride height? I would think the guys that race might want to gain some extra cornering clearance and the link might be able to help with that. Just wondering. Thankx. |

Just out of curiosity, but isnt the curvature just there for clearance due to the new linkage ratio.....it shouldn't have any affect on its motion....

| That's correct, the 'kink' in the link is to allow clearance of the lower shock eyelet. The bearings are still centered on the same plane. |

| Only cause you're beating me to it. Sloduc's got me spending my money elsewhere this week. Then it's off to Dan's.

No prob Ned. Well, I have the first 'prototype' dogbone for the 929---others. like No-Limits racing already have the 954 one. The 929 requires different plates, but Dan machined some new ones for the 929. Installation is straight forward--went from a 17 spring to a 13 due to the altered ration--sag is perfect, ride height is definitely higher, I wiil be testing it on the road Today, at T-Hill this weekend so mo' later |

| Re: 929/954 Dogbones from Dan Kyle Got the bone, installed it, Dan needed to make some custom plates as the 954 were NOT correct---I rode it around on the street yesterday---I like it alot so far--BUT I will have better info after T-Hill this weekend.
It raised the rear about another 1/2', I already had the shock, at about 8mm, backed it down to 4mm as Dan recommended that I back it off as some of the NO Limits guys were bending eyelets---the net rise is still 1/2'.
In changing the dogbone--you also need to reduce the spring rate, I went from a 17 to a 13, and it is still stiffer than the old set-up-but sag is perfect. Seems that the comp/rebound also needs to be backed off. It really seems to 'hook-up' on the gas alot better coming out of corners, which is its primary purpose---more after this weekend--(see you there Vish--yep, both days) |

| Re: 929/954 Dogbones from Dan Kyle Track Update
Awesome mod---'drive traction' was much improved---still working on the fine tuning of comp/rebound---managing wheelies out of corners---but I think this is a by-product of a lot less squat---I would highly recommend this mod, if you want to gain a few seconds on the track |

| Re: 929/954 Dogbones from Dan Kyle Na, that was just a joke. No little ones in the future yet, but we'll start trying in September. We're waiting for the 'pill' to stop kicking in. We figure about 4 to 6 months.
