| Buying 954 soon I just returned from Iraq and while i was gone my friend wrecked my F3 pretty bad. Now i am looking for a 954. I found two that i like but would like your opinions on them. the first one is here http://adcache.cycletrader.com/5/8/1/77140481.htm
and is right here in town the other is near Los Angeles and the site is here http://www.forwardmotionmc.com/showroom.htm obviously click on the 954 pics.
and also what is the main differences between 929 and 954 (besides the obvious cc)
and which bike do you think is better?
thanks

| Re: Buying 954 soon I had an 01 929 & currently have an 02 954 Personnally I like the 54 ALOT better. Riding position is way better & I think it handles better. 929 was an awesome bike when I bought it it was a leftover & couldn't justify the extra $2500.oo for 25cc's & weight savings. traded it in on 2 quads in 03 found a new leftover 02 in 04 from a dealer got it for $7500.oo plus shipping. It's a keeper for a few yrs as per Wife!!! |

| Re: Buying 954 soon With forward motion you have to be careful. Most of their bikes are ones that have been fixed up due to accidents etc. Alot have salvage titles. If you buy from there make sure you know what you're getting.
Did I say I have a silver 02 that I'm selling for 6k?

| Re: Buying 954 soon I am sure it has been dropped or something on that side it would not surprise me at all.
The first one i have already went to look at and i rode it. it is sweet and perfect nothing has been done to it it is completely stock it has a few miles though he says he used it to commute from San Diego to Tucson all the time on it but i am not worried about that miliage is 15,000. i am just ready to ride again it is getting nice again in tucson so its time. |

| Re: Buying 954 soon Personally of the two you posted I'd get the first one off Cycle Trader. If I buy used I prefer buying from the original owner (hopefully) to just generally get to know the history of the bike aside from carfax or other services. Buying a used bike off any dealership lot is asking for trouble IMO. I've known people that traded in problematic bikes to dealerships just to get rid of the "headache". If you're buying from someone face to face, the seller feels much more obligated to be honest with you about any issues, if there are any. If you can get the first one for anywhere under $6500 I'd go for it. It's much easier to work out a fair price from a private party as well, again my opinion.

| Re: Buying 954 soon Yea that could work i will wait till he gets back to me and that way he tell tell me a little about the bike...dont want to rush into this bike like i did my F3 i was soo ready just to get back on a bike i did not shop around at all and just bought really the first thing i came across.
Being someone who started on GIXXERS and then got an R1 i was ready to just ride anything. (although the F3 is a fantastic motorcycle). now i am truly a honda fan and will buy no other bike ever i think.
I am still talking with this guy about the red an black on here in tucson i got him down to under 6,500 but we will see if someone else buys it first (always happens to me!) and of course see what RRWANTER has to offer as well |

how would you suggest meeting if the deal does go down? | Dubble bubbles are known for this. Do a search here and you'll find some threads on it. Basically the design of the dubble bubble can focus the sunlight in one spot like a magnifying glass if the conditions are right.
As far as meeting I'll have to think about it....possibly needles area.....
