| Re: ? motorcycle jack ? Using one of those Craftsman jacks on a sportbike is difficult at best. They are better suited for twin beam "cradle" type frames like those found on cruisers and older standards.
You won't hurt anything by jacking the front end of the bike under the OEM exhaust collector. Dealership service guys do it all the time. Removing the exhaust though, I'm not getting that.
I'll try to find you a pic off the FZ1 Owners Board of a guy who cobbled up a plywood chock to use in conjunction with one of these Sears jacks.... stand by. |

| Re: ? motorcycle jack ? I used a jack like that on my 954 several times with no problems or adverse effects on the bike. Just used the headers as the support spot and a couple tie downs to stabilize it. Of course that was before I had bike stands. |

Of course that was before I had bike stands. | I need to drop the forks on my bike, so the only way I can see using bike stands is if I remove fairing, pop up the bike on front and rear stands, insert car jack stands underneath the center, then remove the front stand and take off the front wheel and remove the forks. Not sure if this is better/safer than using the Craftsman and maybe a jack stand or two. |

| Re: ? motorcycle jack ? If you get the front stand that uses your steering stem, you can remove the forks. |
