| Making my final payment......but she's going up for sale as soon as the title arrives
I should be getting a replacement shortly after she sells. Not sure what though. Need to go try on some bikes first It will most likely be a downgrade since we are trying to save up some money.
This is going to be hard on me as I'm quite attached to her.

| Re: Making my final payment......but Well luckily I didn't spend one dime on our trip to France
Our goal is to get a new home and move out of Ohio (hopefully sooner than later) so I really don't need to have a bike that "expensive" while we're wanting to save extra money.
Since there won't be any bike payments (which saves ~$250/month) plus the money I get from selling my bike will give us a nice head start.
p.s. I wonder if Domino's would let me deliver pizzas with my bike J/K (no thanks) |

| Re: Making my final payment......but Hey Alex, if you're moving out of Ohio to someplace warm, I know a young whipper-snapper who would probably move in to help with expenses so you could keep the ride. he's probably spend all his time on the 'puter as well so you'd never know he's there!!
Can anyone guess who I'm talking about? |

| Re: Making my final payment......but I have to disagree with your logic here.
If you sell the bike you will get approx 6000 to 7000 dollars. You will have to spend money to advertise, waste God knows how much time waiting for people to show up to look at the bike, take the risk of people being "interested" in your bike and then trying to steal it from you, sign over the title, go to the D.M.V. to surrender your plates, wait for a refund check for the plates and unused insurance, spend time searching for a cheaper replacement bike, pay tax on new bike, pay registration fees for new bike, then do all of the normal maintenance on any "new" bike you get. The worst part about this whole thing is that after you get the "new" cheaper bike you won't know how good the bike is until a few months later and hopefully didn't get a lemon.
I'm not trying to scare you, but my point is this...
If you have no payments left on the bike, why sell it?
You won't get that much money from the sale, you will waste a lot of time and money unregistering and re-registering the bikes, and will end up with an inferior bike which you won't know how well the bike was maintained (most people don't take care of their bikes the way I do), and you won't be banking much money after all of the swapping and taxes. If you had a very rare bike, or a bike worth 30,000 or more I can understand the sale, but for a couple of thousand dollars it's not worth the effort.
My advice to you is to either sell the bike until after the move is made and you can afford a new bike, or keep it... I have known a few people who have done this just prior to getting married, or buying a house and they ALL regretted it. In fact 1 of those guys wound up selling a pristine GSX-R1000 with 6,000 miles on it, and getting a used GSX-R750. He "made" 3,500 from the sale but wound up having to rebuild the engine because of abuse. After taxes, fees, and repair costs he spent 600 dollars MORE for the beat up 750.
I'm not trying to preach to you, but I don't want to see anyone else make the same mistakes my friends have made. Good Luck!!! |

J/K sorry to hear that you have to let your bike go...that sucks but in some ways an older bike is a lot less worries and a LOT cheaper. Good luck on what ever happens |

Sorry I will leave now | Young is a relative term TGZ, but yes, he IS 20+ years younger than me.
Also, I don't live in Ohio, I live in Canada, but still south of the Motor City. |
