according to honda.com (click on the wings to go the motorcycle section) the '07 dry is 388 lbs, which is heavier than my 370 lbs (375 lbs CA model which is what i own) 954RR Honda Motorcycles - 2007 CBR1000RR - Colors, Specifications, Pricing, Accessories, Gallery

| Re: 2006 CBR1000RR Dry weight Look inside!!!!! The '06 and the '07 are the same. The '04 and '05 are the same as well.
The '04 to '07 1000RR was a heavier bike; so what. |

man, it seems as if you get flamed for everything nowadays... starting a new thread that's been repeated, using a thread that was revived by someone else... wow |

| Re: 2006 CBR1000RR Dry weight Look inside!!!!! Does it really matter what the weight of the bike is? Heavier bike, bigger engine and more power. |

| Re: 2006 CBR1000RR Dry weight Look inside!!!!! These numbers were taken off of sport riders web site and are based on actual weighings, as opposed to manufacturers claimed dry weights.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
The original '93 900 RR weighed 432 lbs tank empty (454 tank full). This dropped steadily through the 954 model - 405 tank empty - then grew to 437 with the original 1000RR ('04) before dropping to 422 ('06) and finally 410 for the 08 model.
Suzuki's 01 Gixxer 1000 started out at 408 before ballooning now to 445 for 08.
The Yamaha R1 started out at 419 in '98 (amazing), dropping to 411 in '02 before moving back up to 435 for the 08.
The Ducati has typically been heavier than the lightest four cylinder, but has now dropped to 410 for the 1098, which is lighter than any 9xx variant before it and certainly less the the original 916 at 443. (this does not include R models)
These things move in cycles, but its good to see Honda has built a bike that is both light and powerful with awesome handling and full emmission compliance.
BTW, Hondas current 600RR weights in at around 380 lbs tank empty, which is just about the lightest 4 cylinder supersport i've seen yet in the states (i believe the yamaha fzr400 was about a lb or so lighter) |
