| Re: running rich Is it normal to have a thin coating of black soot at the muffler outlet (no way was I gonna say 'around your tailpipe' with this crowd) Only performance mod I have done is to add a bolt on but I had the same condition with the stock muffler as well. Should I be concerned enough to get a PC3 and have a map made? It's not heavy soot, but it there just the same.
TIA for your input.

I don't think what you're describing is a problem - a very light coating of 'soot' is normal. *Is it really black? *I'm at 4300 miles on the 954 and I get just a little on my finger if I rub the inside of the pipe (here come the innuendos). *BTW, I have stock exhaust, no PC III. |

| Re: running rich Black soot...albeit a very light coating. *It turns the tail pipe black not gray I'm at work and don't have my camera with me Bacchus, but try and imagine the tip of my middle finger covered with black soot and raised up for your inspection, something like this... * *
J(what I don't see no h here, do you? nope just what I thought)on

| Re: running rich You will only see the light gray or tan if you are running leaded fuel. Unleaded doesn't really give much burn information, but what you are seeing is the remains of the additive package found in most contemporary pump gas. |
