How are you finding the gas in the oil?

Re: gas in the crankcase

The oil will have a gas like odor. Thats remnants of the combustion process. Hence the need for using filters and changing oil. As stated above its an injector leaking if you truely are getting gas in the oil. If its not seating properly it will leak down slowly untill the pressure in the fuel system lowers enough that the injector does reach a point where it does seat enough to stop leaking. Or if that point is not reached the injector will leak untill all pressure is releived in the fuel sytem.

That's a good indication of gas present in the oil than. Was just wondering as oil will have a slight smell of hydrocarbons that can sometimes be mistaken for fuel.

Re: gas in the crankcase

I used to get that. I don't any more. I put some fuel injection cleaner through the fuel system. Even though you are not supposed to. Plus the bike is now a track only bike. So I run WOT a lot.
