Looks like most all the PAIR valve threads went the way of the dodo with the forum move. I read what I could find and had a few questions. Which hose is the hose for the breather? People said to block off all the holes, others said something about the breather tube left open to the air. I'm getting my bike tuned on the dyno this tuesday and I wanted to try and tackle this over the weekend. The knowledge base article doesn't seem to have made the move over to this forum.
The 2 hoses I just connected together. One hose runs to airbox,I connected a emgo valve cover breather to and capped the airbox with a large vacuum plug.I hope I remembered that correctly,I did it over 2 years ago and haven't had my airbox off in awhile.
Thanks for the tips. Pulled the valve out this afternoon, pretty easy. Bike feels the same, no popping on the decel now though. Removed the K&N and put a clean stock filter back in while I had it all apart. Will get it all dynoed and tuned on tuesday....see what I end up with.
Thanks again. I took pics of everything as I did it and will write up a page when I get my computer back running.
Nice write up. That should be in the KB to help our fellow .org members.
I had my bike apart today and was thinking of removing the charcoal canister and PAIR valve just for the weight savings but found that they were so light that it wasn't worth polluting our air more for such a small amount of weight. The good thing is I found one of the screws loose that hold the velocity stacks in place.
That's interesting. I just pulled the top off my bike to synch the throttle bodies, and found one of the velocity stack screws to be totally loose, as well. Good thing Honda was smart enough to make them captive screws. I think that the loose one was the rear screw for the right-side pair of stacks.
