YANA SHIKI BOLT-ON EXHAUST 954 MAP; who has one?

I was thinking of getting a custom MAP and was wondering if anyone would like to donate $25 to the cause and help ease the pain of a $300 MAP if I email the donaters the map!

SO if anyone is interested email me your paypal address and I'll send you a request for $25 and after I get $150 buck worth of donations I'll get the map done and email everyone that paid the MAP with an image of the dyno print-out. $25 bucks for a $300 map is a good deal in anyones book. If I don't get $150 I'll just send everyones money back.

My bike is a 2003 CA. 954 with 4,000 miles on it and use 91 octane only with full synthetic oil; has the flapper installed and functioning, stock air filter, the HTEV installed and functioning, 02 eliminator installed, and the Pair valve blocked off.

Only problem with that is that it'll be a custom map for your bike and your bike only. It won't be a "custom" map on anyone else's bike. Even though the bike may have all the same mods, same brand exhaust, etc., each bike is a bit different.

Re: YANA SHIKI BOLT-ON EXHAUST 954 MAP; who has one?

All 2003 US Honda 954's were assembled using identical components (i.e. the molded exhaust, engines, electronics, plus more are mass produced and assembled the same way). One could easily deduce a map created for any 954 and uploaded into another 954 outfitted similar to mine, under similar environmental conditions, using the same octane fuel, on the same Dyno would be immeasurably close if not dead on under the same conditions. I say this with confidence because Honda has quality measures/standards in place making variance in a product line unlikely to the point of Six Sigma. Six Sigma is an industry standard identifying a number of defects a component has in a given quantity produced. Case and point all components are the same, operation of the components are the same therefore output of the systems are the same.

The point is if my 954 and other persons 954 were run on the same dyno using the map created for my bike the other persons 954 would have near identical results if my map were installed on their bike of similar condition. The "bit" difference you speak of would come into play according to the condition of the other bikes engine and why I posted my bikes data.

I'd pay $25 bucks for the MAP IF the bike mapped had the exact same setup as mine and I was able to obtain the run doc's. The key to this is identical equipment means identical results; quality standards of Honda make this possible.

I typed all that in one breath, sigh . . .

Re: YANA SHIKI BOLT-ON EXHAUST 954 MAP; who has one?

Let me get this straight:

You purchased a slip on exhaust for $100 that has absolutely no research and development deployed into the pipe off of Ebay, and you want to raise $300 to get YOUR bike a custom map and will share that "Custom Map" with anybody that is stupid enough to give you $25.

You need to do some research on Dyno maps, it shows from your previous statements that you have no clue what you are asking.

I still stand by my first statement: You are still and idiot.

that pipe scares me, not sure why anyone looking for a custom map would choose it in the first place.

Re: YANA SHIKI BOLT-ON EXHAUST 954 MAP; who has one?

Seems there is a misundertanding. As dyno jet offers maps for pipes I was doing the same for anyone who wanted a map that would work well until they decided to do the same as I; get a custom map.

I appreciate the input but could do without the rude and insulting comments as anyone who posts would.

Re: YANA SHIKI BOLT-ON EXHAUST 954 MAP; who has one?

Yeah, a bolt on/ slip on only usually doesn't even require a PCIII with a generic map, let alone a custom.

Bikes are very different. If you dyno the same exact stock bikes on the same dyno, the numbers can have a range of + or - 10 hp. So, a custom map made specifically for your bike may be close for someone else's bike, the same as any generic map from the dynojet website will be. Big deal. Guess the issue here is that there is no generic map on the dynojet site for that pipe you bought that I've never even heard of.

But dynojet doesn't charge anything for theirs...

Use a map from the dynojet website with a can that has similar dimensions, diameter and length to the one you bought. Talk to one of the customer service reps at dynojet who will be glad to help you.

Re: YANA SHIKI BOLT-ON EXHAUST 954 MAP; who has one?

oconner and hondagaltoo,
Good points and thanks for the civil response. I used both "bolt-on" maps on the site and the fuel delivery is very different for each. Doing some research on the Blade site I found installing a P3 smoothed out the 3K surge and I also had a 6K surge during crusing in traffic (3K) and on the freeway (6K) plus I can set the fuel delivery to get max power unlike stock.

When I installed pipes on my carb'ed bikes I always jetted to put the bike in the power ban so I would believe the same would be true with the fuel injected. So that brought me to just getting the bike mapped with the Yana Shiki and see if others were interested. Yea I asked for donations but it was a request to ease my $$ pain and not intended to offend anyone.

Simple Guy, nothing wrong with your post asking for donations to map your bike.I see people on the internet asking for people to help them get boob jobs, help them pay off their credit cards etc, AND IT WORKS. Just imagine if every one from this site pay palled me just $5 , not a bad idea !

on the other note, your map probably would not work very good for many others here,as sea level and other factors would throw it off from region to region, never mind the other mods that people do to their bikes.

Just to let everyone know the Yana Shiki map is not very different from the Erion bolton pipe map on Dynojets site.

"both"? there are WAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY more than 2 maps on the powercommander site.

I've had 2 929s, both 2001s. the first one has an Erion bolt on and the second a 2Bros. Those pipes are supposedly very similar. The first one with the Erion definitely felt like it had a stronger engine. The Erion had over 21k miles on it when I crashed it and the Red/Black one had 17k when I bought it. I was the second owner of both so I have no idea how each was broken in but they were definitely broke in differently. 2 bike thats according to you should be exactly the same were vastly different.

and to get to your carb vs FI thing. carbureted engines don't have the myriad of sensors a FI engine does. the carbs have no way of compensating for small increases in air intake while a FI engine does. You can adjust carbs everyday and it could still be way off the next day. a FI engine will always be close enough. 2 completely different animals. a FI bike with a slip on/bolt on can compensate for the tiny difference in air intake while there's nothing on a carb to that.

just as Hammer said, you're an idiot.

CBR929RE Save you insults, there's enough hate in the world, be cool

Spookyjack,
Mainly because my MPG went from 131 average (stock bike with slipon) to reserve to 147 average to reserve using the Erion map (at this point the bike had the P3 and O2 eliminator on). In the bikes I've jetted in the past, due to installing a pipe, the mileage would be slightly less after rejetting due to A/F ratio change for more power after dyno tuning. Didn't make sence that the bike would get better gas mileage (+16MPG) especially sence the map shows fuel being added to many RPM/Throttle postions as well as the 131MPG average. That's why.

Also what do you mean by "using the map right"? I've not heard that term used.

I didn't mean it as an insult. it was a description.

131 to 147 is not a +16MilesPerGallon increase.
and how the hell are you getting 131MPG?
you don't seem to know the difference between miles traveled and miles per gallon.

and with FI mapping you can use a total of less gas while using more gas at certain rpm ranges. it all depends on the total amount of correction. you don't have that kind of fine control with carbs no matter how much tuning you do to them.

I only read about half these replies to the original comment and the only thing I can make of all this is this guy is poor and needs to get a second job.

A lot of people these days jump into things with out understanding the responsibility that comes with it. I wonder if he even has money to pay for his insurance. What about new tires when the time comes....would you spend it on a dyno or get new tires to be safe on the road.

I understand what you are trying to do but I am with Hammer "your still and idiot"

AND GET A JOB AND PAY FOR YOUR OWN MODS
