| Re: 2008 Fireblade Hi Everyone, my first post here. I'm researching this new beast and I had a question on it. Where will frame sliders mount up? Will the fairings have to be drilled? I've been looking at the pics, and maybe I'm missing something, but it doesn't look obvious to me where they would go? Thanks, and great site btw! |

Undertail is cool and all but damn those cans look good. Got a really nice sound also. |

yes mate, the fairings have to be drilled for front R&G sliders. Exactly why I'm not having any !! |

My 07 has a full sato system, pc3 and flapper mod and puts 160+ to the rear wheel.. First thing im gonna do is some roll-ons, twisties, and 1/4miles runs against my 07.. My buddy and i are equal in riding ability so its should be interesting.. Im gonna video the whole thing.. |

Congrats and looking forward to your comparo. |

Thanks Denzee, but i really don't think that performance wise its gonna be alot better in stock form. The new blade is 162 or so to the rear wheel and the weight is about the same as my 07 with the mods.. Im sure it will be alot better handleing and have alot smoother power delievery and be a better all around bike.. Im just not sure why the new blade is struggling in the WSBK competition.. The closest Honda is in 5 place behind Ducati, Suzuki, and Yamaha... Not too dominate as they thought.. But it is early.. And the blade did do well in the SBK testing at Valencia...

| Re: 2008 Fireblade I'm waiting with baited breath Maholli. The bike is still being developed and besides Checa, they don't have the same talent as last year as pettingpython has said. Getting back to your 07/08 comparo, I still think even with the mods you have on your 07, you'll find a marked improvement. Please don't disappoint me Maholli. |

| Re: 2008 Fireblade haha Denzee... I hope your right... I think the new blade with track much better and have slightly more power throughout the entire rev range.. Most of the numbers I have seen on the new blades rwhp is less than my 07 after the mods.. I think once I mod out the 08 it will be much better.. The technology of the 08 is far better than anything out there.. |

| Re: 2008 Fireblade Grrrrrrr my dealership got their shipment in today. Went by sat on looked at picked over and wound up drooling over this bike. I wish like hell I could afford to take on 5.5k in debt, they offered me 11k with a 5 year warranty and 5500 trade on my 954.
As much as I hated the initial pictures it is definately typical nice fit and finish you expect from a honda and it feels like I am pitching my wifes f4i or my 954 back and forth between my legs and not the piggish sluggish feel of the 1000.
Honda's got a winner with this one. |

| Re: 2008 Fireblade Just picked my 08 1000rr yesterday. Still in the 300 mile break in period so hard to tell how much more powerful it is staying under 6,000rpm. I can for sure say that it is alot more agile than the 04 1000rr I had. I can really tell the difference in wieght, you can really toss it around. The seat and seating position is alot more comfortable also. I'll fill you in on more after the break in. |

I must say the motor is better though.. The bikes overall package is much better.. It really is the power of a 1000 and the handleing of a 600... |

I have a deposit on one here but no word on when it will be in. Really excited about this bike! |

| Re: 2008 Fireblade will say this the bike looks so much better in person, but i proably wont get one this year, just put a full exhaust on my 06 so i am not ready to part with it yet but the 08s are tempting and sitting on one is much more comfortable as noted above lol and all the color schemes set off each other nicely as well... go see it in person... |

| Re: 2008 Fireblade Wow, great article!! I love this part of the article: "It dominates the competition in roll-on acceleration in any gear, at any speed and has a real burst of acceleration when you crack the throttle open. The shorter gearing has the CBR closer to the sweet spot on the tach than the other bikes, so it stomps them into submission at every opportunity. We didn't have the opportunity to officially run this quintet flat out to top speed anywhere and at the racetrack we never really got further than fourth gear, so we are not able to state absolute facts on the matter of top end speed, but... The CBR is the only bike we ever had hit redline in sixth gear. During those same top-gear runs, the others were a couple thousand rpm from red by the time the disappearing Honda rider hit the rev-limiter. In theory the other bikes, since they are geared taller, would eventually reel the Honda back in, but by that point the RR will be out of sight because it's so far ahead it isn't even funny. No matter who you are, that type of absurd openclass acceleration is a good thing and it is the core component of this CBR's success story." |

| Re: 2008 Fireblade I visited the Broward Motorsports Store in West Palm Beach Florida and was greeted by a shiny new limited edition 2008 Blade. Since it was closing time I quickly asked if anyone had a deposit on it. The sales associate asked around and determined that two people had expressed interest in it today since it was new to the sales floor but neither of them had placed a deposit on it. I found out how much they wanted to guarantee it would be in my garage and come tomorrow I will roll it into my garage. A limited edition 2008 Fireblade will be replacing a my 2006 Fireblade. I was blown away by the look of this much debated and anticipated machine. The front end has grown on me and the slim tail section is beautiful from every angle. I will post some pictures up as soon as it rests in my garage. Fear the 'Blade! |

| Re: 2008 Fireblade Congrats, if you don't mind me asking, what did you pay for the sweet looking black limited edition? They want full MSRP of 11,799 here, and that's before taxes and whatever else they charge. They will deal on the other colors a little bit, but I really want the all black. Not sure what to do, because I really don't want to pay full price! Please post some pics!! |
