| Re: 2008 Fireblade I paid full sticker plus a "dealer prep" fee that was non-negotiable. They also wanted to charged freight since it is such a limited edition.
$11,799
$535 dealer fee
plus tax
but I got $7000 for my trade so I agreed |

| Re: 2008 Fireblade Ive got a question: I have heard that a custom exhaust may be harmful on these bikes because of the valves in the stock pipe. does anyone know if this is true? i would imagine that a custom pipe with a custom tune would fix this problem but i would like more opinions. The reason why i ask is because i plan on buying one of these bikes in the next month or two. Im not really a fan of the stock pipes on them but i have seen a badass system from leo vince that would be a must. I am also wondering about the headlights. Are they both the same bulb; one high one low or are they totally different. Hid's would also be a must!! thanks! |

| Re: 2008 Fireblade If I buy a new bike I am not going to bother doing anything to it but riding it. Does removal of the midpipe valve and a race exhaust hurt a 954 or 04-07 1000rr? No, and I doubt it'll do a thing to the 08. Same with the zooks and r6's that have all that crap stuffed under them putting on a race exhaust just eliminates some unecessary junk and saves some weight. |

The 08 blades have a plastic tank cover don't they?

| Re: 2008 Fireblade Tank bag attached via bungee cord secured under the seat and nylon straps looped thru the handlebar. The '08 tanks are plastic and I use a plastic protective film (Sniders Paintguard) on rear of tank and under the pressure points of the bag. Works well, easy to move when filling. |

I'll be upgrading to the new blade in a few weeks and i'm used to using my tankbag attached via magnets.
So i was wondering how yours was sitting there in the pic you posted

| Re: 2008 Fireblade Having picked my bike up saturday midday I have put 263 miles on it and it is a fantastic bike, I can't gauge it against the last model as I did not test ride it, well I didn't test ride the new model I just bought it and waited for the surprise
I am sitting here with the biggest grin on my face you could ever imagine, fair play to honda you done well. I was hoping to pick it up friday and then get the 600 miles on it for a service today but alas bennetts buggered me about so much so I had to ride 320 miles to coventry on friday afternoon to pick up my insurance cover note to get the bike registered and taxed saturday. But it gave me a good excuse to give the ZX-6R a bloody good send off.
All I can say is for those fortunate to own the RR8 I hope you enjoy it half as much as I am, and what made it even more special is the dealer telling me to keep to about 7-8k rpm and then said oh sod it they are bullet proof just enjoy riding it (however I will not be red lining it until the first service is done) which should be tomorrow

I definately don't mind it as much as when I first saw it, but it looks too much like an "appliance" to my eyes, guess I'm just a little more old school.

| Re: 2008 Fireblade I agree, the stock can doesn't look as bad when you get used to it. Sort of goes with the modern lines of the bike I think.
My point was, I don't think anybody has bought out an aftermarket yet that I think warrants the bucks as they are all a bit ugly IMHO. Probably because of the space left, I'm sure somebody will come up with a carbon panel to cover it.
My previous bike was an Aprilia Tuono with Akrapovics. TBH I don't miss the noise these days. My missus and neighbours certainly don't !!
I quite like the sound of the stock can, nice and quite below 4k, then starts shouting when your throttle hand tells it to |

honda have dared to be different and as far as looks go i think this year nothing comes close!!!!!! |

Dare to be different. Honda did and it has paid dividends.
Be interesting to see which route Suzuki and Yamaha take next year with their new bikes. I for one, wouldn't be surprised to see some similarities. |

| Re: 2008 Fireblade Thanks for the replies, I did find some aftermkt exhausts-jardine, two brothers, hot bodies(??)---but after checking them out (and listening to some on youtube) I have to wait for the akra, i like it loud and i have a good excuse too, the noise alerts motorists to my presence it looks like they have the full exhaust available (not street legal?) but thaats alot of cash & i will be happpy with the slip on...Im just a town rider, no track on my rock yet... oh yeah, I just dont understand why some of you would prefer the stock can... i dont need any more burns on my legs so the carbon fiber is a MUST!! I love these smiley guys. |

| Re: 2008 Fireblade did anyone else notice that the owners manual says HURRICANE on it? lol- so is it not the fireblade any longer? I used to have a hurricane 600f before the f1!!!!! I thought that was for 600cc, but thats what my owners manual says on the cover & even my honda dealership was trippin on that when i asked about it....just useless gossip/talk, but nobody i know can even tell the difference between a cbr 1000rr8 and a NINJA! People always come up to me and say "you ride the ninja, right?" Guess how i feel about ninjas after years of that? |

Anyone know where to get framesliders and possibly a dark-tint windshield for this bike??? |

I so agree.. Love the trunk space. I rock the Targa seat cover, can fit a beast in the trunk. But.. my boy has a bullet back style Gxsr with much more room with the seat cover. Awsome bikes imo. Trunk space important for me, too. |
