| HH Rated Brake Manufacturer pad poll Goofed up the first poll so here is try 2. All retailers for the HH series brake manuf.'s identified above sell for approx $28-$60 per set of 2. SO, The question is if you were purchasing Sinter HH friction rated brake pads used mainly for street (80%) and occasional track use (20%) and your parameter were shortest stopping ability, rotor wear, and brake longevity (in that order) what manufacture would you purchase brakes from. If you want, elaborate on why you chose the manufacturer. Thanks in advance for everyones input.

My bike already had Galfer SS lines on the front and fresh EBC pads when I bought it with 2800 miles on the clock. |

| Re: HH Rated Brake Manufacturer pad poll Back when I needed pads I bought two sets (for the track bike (F2) and street/track bike (900RR)). At the time I heard a lot of good talk about EBC's pads. Having used them both on the street and track, I have nothing but good things to say about those pads. They're fantastic on the track. They respond very well, there's no fade, and create minimal brake dust. I've found them to be very good on the street as well.
As for HRC, I believe you have to be careful as there's a hard and soft bite compound. You have to figure out what compound will suit your riding and braking style. |

The HRC and Carbone-Lorraine pads have a strong initial bite when applied, but the HRC's don't last nearly as long as the C-L's...

| Re: HH Rated Brake Manufacturer pad poll I can only find the Carbone Lorraine SBK-3 pads for my bike. What is the difference between them and the SBK-5 which I have heard a lot of people speak highly of. I'm getting either the Carbone Lorraine's or Galfer HH's. |

Galfer HH was a great street pad
Vesrah SRJL's stop my race bike very well with great feel |

I've liked what I've heard about those but everyone I have talked to has only used them on the track. How are they for everyday street use? I'm looking for hard initial bite. |

| Re: HH Rated Brake Manufacturer pad poll they offer a street version and a track version. ive got the street. and i dont know, they are being dropped off to me tonight by my g/f. ill do the install probably next weekend. i was recommended thse as well as the carbone pnes mentioned in the poll. i chose the vesrah ones as ive heard they are better.
i also run a higher quality brake fluid. ATE super blue racing brake fluids in my clutch, front and rear. higher boiling point and a cool blue color. when i do my next flush-out and refill, i buy the same fluid, but in red. that way you can tell when you get all the old fluids out. |

Let us know what you think. I've never found a single person who has tried the Carbone Lorraine that have had anything bad to say about them so I thought I was going to go with them. If you end up thinking that these Vesrah's are the "bees knees" then I might go with them. My pads are just fine (OEM) wear wise but I just don't feel like they are giving the performance that I want. |

| Some of them just say 40-60 miles of light braking. Others give a more specific procedure that is like: 30-0mph a couple times then let cool, 50-0 a couple times then let cool, and so on like that. They will probably have a sheet with them or it will be on the Vesrah site.
If you can get someone to bead blast your rotors it would be better. |

| Re: HH Rated Brake Manufacturer pad poll None of the above. All ate rotors, left groves in the rotors, poor feel, required too much pressure, faded too quickly, squeaked, etc. Not to mention the very SHORT pad life. Made my own. Brake pad material and JBWeld. Lasts forever. |

On my 2000 R6, EBC performed much better than stock on the street. But required heavy fingers to brake hard on the track.
The OE pads are excellent both on the track and street for 954RR. I have 21K on the bike and still have plenty left. I don't think I'll be needing new pads for another 5-8K miles. |
