| Need help CBR 929 Hi I recently bought a 929 and have been working on it for awhile now. At first the bike fired up fine and ran good, now it won't start at all. It happen after a long ride maybe about 3 hours. I cut the engine off and when i tried to start it again it wont start. I just brought it to the shop and the guy told me the problem isn't mechanical. I'm new to motorcycle so i have no idea how the electronics work. The mechanic told me that the fuel pump is working but the injectors isn't opening up because of a module? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. There is also a red light on the gauge, I don't remember if it was there before. I just need some input before i go and buy something i don't need. thanks |

| Re: Need help CBR 929 when you flip the fuel switch do you hear the pump? There is a connection under the rider seat that may have came loose. Also check your fuses. |

| Re: Need help CBR 929 yes the fuel pump turns on he said the fuel injector module needs to be replace but when I went to order it the other place told me there were no such things. He knows for a fact that it's not mechanical as he said. He said it was all electrical. I might just have to spend more money I guess. |

| Re: Need help CBR 929 ok so the mechanic said it's nothing wrong with the engine. He pour gas into the cyclinder heads and it started up right away. He told me the fuel injectors sensor is not telling it to give fuel when the engine starts it wants to start but the fuel injectors doesn't want to open, according to him. When I do turn the key on the light turns on then shut off then turns on permantely. Please if you can help me I would really appreciate it. |

| Re: Need help CBR 929 The red light on means that you can check for trouble codes.
1. take your front seat off
2. locate the black two wire connector plug by your battery that is not attached to anything.
3 take a paperclip or piece of wire and jump the two wires together.
4. turn your bike key on and count the number of blinks and report back. |

| Re: Need help CBR 929 OK, I just did several searches for "fault codes", "fault", "code", etc.. along with username Red Rider & got nothing for fault codes like I was seeking. The only thread that came up with the word codes in it that red rider started was: Daytona 200 and Superbike Races ***SPOILER***
Anyone else know the exact thread or am I totally missing something here? |

| Re: Need help CBR 929 Nah, the fault codes list is not posted anymore, IIRC.
The list is in the service manual. |

| Re: Need help CBR 929 sounds like you probably have any one of the following codes, 12, 13, 14, or 15. each one of them corresponding to each injector. the manual says:
*loose or poor contact on No.X injector connector
*open or short circuit in No.X injector wire
*faulty No.X injector.
(x=1-4 depending on what injector it is)
try checking each injector connector for corrosion.
