hass eliminator ?

I have a hass eliminator and pc coming in the mail.Ryan said that hes going to supply the map for the unit.It sounds pretty generic, would I be better off map for a full pipe?I know I should get a custom map made but the cost $350 and I still have 3 more birthdays and christmas to get through.

Re: hass eliminator ?

Any map you find for whatever full system, from the dynojet site or where ever, will also be a generic map, rather then one made specifically for your bike. Try the map they're sending you and see how it runs. If you don't like it, no harm in trying some other maps off the dynojet site for full systems.
Absolute Cycle Performance in Linden charges $250 for a custom map, the least expensive I've seen. They weren't listed on the dynojet site as an approved tuning center when I got my 929 mapped some years ago, but they are now.

From what I can tell, yes. They've been around since 2002. They used to do the tire service for Reduc at the track. I still go over there with my rims to get tires mounted and balanced because the price is good. Nice guys. They've started running trackdays as well.

Re: hass eliminator ?

I rode up to their shop today. They seem like they knew their ****.I was drooling over his gixxer with bst carbon wheels on it.I have a bad habit of buying first and asking questions later....I purchased a pc III non usb unit for $100 and they said it cost more to custom map(350-400).I could buy a new usb pc for 250 and custom map for 250...screwed myself

Thanks! Still have the 929, put it back on the street. The gix600 is for the track. I love it! Picked it up this past August.

Yeah, it was tough to part with it, but the maintenance was cutting into my trackday budget! LOL. Can't keep 'em all, no matter how much I'd like to.

Re: hass eliminator ?

IMO bite the bullet and get a custom map. I got mine dyno tuned at HYPERCYCLE in Los Angeles (was previously running on generic downloaded map) and the motor pulls like it running on electricity - super linear. Not only is acceleration crisper but so is engine braking. Everything just feels more connected. I'm kicking myself for having waited so long to do it. The only downside is Cary at Hypercycle recommends 91 octane only which around here is quite a premium above 87.

Custom mapping is the way to go, especially with a full system. Did it on my 929 with full Arata and got 146 at the rear wheel (actual, SAE corrected would probably be around 138). Same power as an average 954, woot!!

Just dropped mine off this morning at Absolute for custom mapping. I'll let you know how it goes, but they are great guys. Talked with them for awhile, they know their stuff.

Re: hass eliminator ?

well,I started the bike,This mod is worth it just on sound alone.I couldnt believe it was my bike,It sounded like it grew a set of balls the size of oranges.I took it out for a quick spin and was again pleasantly surprized. The engine seems to rev quicker which made the bike seem faster. There is a slight stumble on take offs but I can live with it.I didnt even tune it yet, the guy I bought the pc from said the bike had a twobros full sytem on it so plugged & played. In my book the has elminator is worth the $$

Re: hass eliminator ?

Well I had more time in the saddle...The bike has a huge hole at 3500rmp it might even be starving for fuel.I get a surge at that rpm after that the bike boogies down the road at a pretty good clip.i gonna drop this power commander and get a usb unit asap.Nobody wants to even touch that thing.they look at you like you just put a betamax on the counter.

Re: hass eliminator ?

I went back to absolute and purchased a usb(black friday stop) and put in the map the ryan gave me.It smooth as butter now.The only thing is, it was running stronger with the messed up map. After i made it past that 3500rpms stumble it was flying. It even had a deeper exhaust note.

Re: hass eliminator ?

A custom map will clean up that common dip at around 3500.
My 929 has a serial PC, hope it doesn't need tuning ever again, sounds like, LOL.
Absolute got a gain of 4 hp with the custom mapping with my Yosh R-55 slip-on (gixxer 600). Nice smooth curve and increased torque. I haven't ridden it yet, too cold. Probably won't ride it till Spring. Brrrr. I'm hibernating.

Glad you see/hear/feel an improvement!

yeah the kid told me what you got on the dyno....Every time people talk passionately about racing I ask if the know you and Bob from supertool(a mechanic that helps me with my bike from time to time).I think hes a a instructor for one of those track schools, but people dont really know him.But everyone seems to know you

Re: hass eliminator ?

HondaGal got the same gix as me and just got hers dynoed there as well. He said hers was a fluke...in a good way...stock it had 5 more hp than mine! She got a strong one! We know Bob (if it's the Bob who's an MSF instructor and a coach with Team Promotion), we sent him to Powerhouse back when there were few to no approved tuning centers in the area with the tuning link software. We'll send folks to Absolute if they live closer to there than the place on LI. I think people remember us because we're not the "norm"....we're middle-aged women on sportbikes, riding the track, doing our own mods. Makes us a little more rememberable! LOL.
