| Honda Recall Hey all. I received a phone call from the dealership I bought my bike from informing me that the fuel tank on my 06 CBR1000RR has been recalled. Apparently there have been problems with them leaking fuel causing a fire hazard. I've scheduled an appointment this Saturday to have a safety inspection done. I'm not 100% sure, but logic would dictate that the 07 models might have the same issue. I suggest you contact your nearest dealer and query them about your specific model. So, heads up, and good luck. |

| Re: Honda Recall It might be in the mail. I would think that the dealers are informed first, since they will be the ones replacing the tank if that needs to be done. Perhaps my dealer felt it necessary to give a call to their patrons. I'm just letting everyone know about it. Or perhaps phone Honda for verification. |

| Re: Honda Recall I know its nothing to do with the 600RR/1000RR, but a batch of the CBR954RRs were recalled when they were made as the bottom of the forks would corrode and could even cause the whole front wheel assy to come off.
I dont know if it affected everyone in the UK, or even if it affected people abroad, but its something to look into. |

Thats what the dealership told me as well " Not a chance of it happening over here mate " closely followed by " What the #### " !!!! Yep cracked on both forks. |

Just what are they looking at?
Can I look myself and take it to a dealer later for verification? We have had no notices from from Honda SA
Is this just in the US or world-wide? |

| Re: Honda Recall I'm not sure if the tank problem is something you can do yourself. I just had mine done last week and the shop had just got a special tool to do the job. Of course for all I know that special tool could have been a #2 philips screwdriver. Either way it is a recall so it should be no charge (mine was). My dealership didn't even notify me until I took my bike in to have something else taken care of and they did the "Oh, by the way, your bike has a recall on it." |

| Re: Honda Recall 2006-2007 CBR1000RR I just took my 07 in on Saturday. They told me that the recall only affects certain VINs. You dealer can tell you if the recall affects your bike if you provide them with your VIN. The problem is that the vent tube on the tank is too long and can stress the weld and crack. My bike was in and out in 2 1/2 hours. New tank when I left. |

I believe the recall is for a specific VIN sequence. I received my letter back a few months...I think in January. Had the bike checked by the dealer and no problem found. |
