............ Hoody | bottom line is, buy the one you like. it's your bike and your money.
I love the looks of the taylormade. I just can't get bring myself to pay $900 for a slipon with no hp gains, when I can buy a yosh full system for $800 and gain hp. That's just me. |

I was under the impression that the Canadian bikes had the same timing retard? You can simply add, as I have already done, the zbomb from bazzaz to get the top end horsepower back and defeat the timing retard so it will match the power of the european bikes. Bazzaz Performance - Motorcycle ECU mapping and ignition components. - Z-BOMB
The highest real world numbers I have seen for the 08/09 is 171hp. That's with a zbomb, full system, PC and custom tune. If you actually got those numbers from a dyno It appears they have it set to read high. |

In the U.S., it's the bikes that are retarded while in Canada it's the riders.

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust I was simply stating facts. Then I kept getting called mr. detuned by someone who's bike is also detuned! WTF! lol
It all started when I told him his favorite pipe makes no power. I like the taylormade also but the fact is it's $900 for a slipon that does nothing but improve the looks of you bike. I personally would rather improve the looks of my bike as well as gain some hp. The yosh full system will do that for cheaper. It's not the best when it comes to hp gains but I think it's one of the best looking systems simply because of the filler panel and it's one of the cheaper systems when it comes to cost. If I simply wanted to go for hp and ignored price I would go for an akro full system and fab the yosh filler panel to work. |

Honestly I don't know about you guys. Everyone thinks they are so smart! If its about the emmission thing and the retard timing then understand that in the US certain states ie Cal. have very strict emission laws for any motor vehicle be it a car truck or bike. This is why the manufactures have to make adjustments in order to meet these regulations, hence the engine mods, hence the horse power loss (call it what you want). Canada does NOT have these same strict emisson requirements or does Europe!
GET IT! Now please don't bother me about this issue again, I'm here to enjoy this site and not getting into pissing contests. Thanks |

Thanks | Not to piss on, but the ignition retard was put in place to lower noise. Since the bike makes peak horsepower earlier in the rpm range the test is held at a lower rpm. therfore it is quieter, and yes the canadian bikes have it thats why the zbomb works with them too.
Not trying to argue just letting anyone viewing this have CORRECT info. We lose no power due to emissions in the states, in fact only EURO spec bikes have o2 sensors. |

Yes, and noise, the noise is just awesome |

The Taylormade exposes the asymmetrical gullwing swingarm. In addition, the Taylormade is overpriced and doesn't do a thing for performance. |
