If you don't have the money to do it right, don't do it at all. |

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust I went with the 2 brothers exhaust. It's louder than most, but i like the sound. Everybody that's heard it likes it also. It's supposed to give you 3-4 more hp and a better torque curve. The bike definitly pulls harder off the bottom than with the stock exhaust. You also lose about 13lbs, the stock can is huge and heavy. |

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust I hate to be the bearer of bad news but from the reviews I have read and the dealer information regarding aftermarket exhausts the general consensus is that if you remove the standard system you will lose anything up to 18bhp so if your getting an aftermarket that gives you 3-4 hp has that already compensated for the initial loss or are you just 15bhp down in the end result????

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust The top names will gain you power. You will need to look at the dyno charts to see where the gains are. If they lost power, who would buy it? How could they claim and gain if there was a loss? The baseline is the standard system, so a gain would be over that of a stock system. http://www.akrapovic.com/typo3conf/e...f87061fb3e.jpg
That doesn't look like a loss to me. |

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust Indeed it doesn't but you get what you pay for with akky. In regards to that stock dyno about 4000 it would be nice to see what the difference is with the flapper mod. I think when the service is done on mine I might just see what the difference is between the 2.

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust There is always a way to make more power than a stock bike, were not talking about building the space shuttle here. The stock exhaust has to meet noise and pollution requirements, it's also huge and heavy. I will have mine put on the dyno vs. a stock bike and post the results. |

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust Hi People, Just about to collect my Repsol RR8 on Thursday...Cant wait!
Never liked standard cans on a bike, noise is part of the excitement!
Just ordered an Akropovic can for my new bike, found a site that has images of the RR8 with various cans on the site is: Honda-Fireblades.co.uk - Fireblade Goodies.
Just need to get a tail tidy and get rid of that monstrosity thats standard.
Will put pics on when I get it.
P.S if your interested I'm getting the Akropovic from More Power Racing UK |

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust There was talk in another thread about disconnecting the cable that operates the flapper valve in the muffler. Since its spring loaded open, and all the cable does is keep it closed below 4k, if you take the cable off it just stays open. I believe someone actually posted that he felt more power below 4k. |

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust The Akropovic can is costing me £285 inc postage. Dont know if there will be any duty on it as of yet, just will have to wait and see. Couldn't find anyone in the UK to supply them. Checked out loads of links through google, M&P, Demon tweeks etc, but none were listed for the 08 Blade. |

Actually I am looking into the Remus exhaust now, looks close to stock. Really don't care about weight reduction just wanted more noise. |

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust Hi Pilotguy027
They dont as such, got mine painted when I ordered it, think it will be the first repsol RR8 in the UK as its the first one by Dream Machine, who do the majority of paint jobs for GP's, WSB, and BSB.
Should (Fingers Crossed!) be collecting tomorrow, and will post pictures then.

Had a lid painted by Dream Machine years ago, top quality stuff those guys do.
If you don't mind me being nosy, what do they charge for a full bike paint job ? Or was it part of the deal with the dealer ?
Cheers |

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust It is nice...but damn thats a lot of money. I would buy the slip on if they create a full system that I can retrofit the slip on to and if it makes good power. |

It really seems that the technology in the stock exhaust works, and in his words, only change the can if you want less power and more noise.
Enough said. | No offense to you but your dealer is a fookin idiot. Here are two charts from the same bike. The first chart is stock shown as blue=5th gear and green = 6th. Sorry the tach pickup was not working.
The second chart is with pump gas, a full Leo Vince system and Bazzaz Z-FI system. Custom map. The red line at the top of the second chart is a drawn in guess for the custome what we can get the power to look like once it is figured out how to work with the ignition up top. |
