| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust 10/27/08, Ive been doing some slip-on research and this is what I got...
Jardine RT5... Good note, No PC, HP increase about 2-5 above stock, $520
TaylorMade... Good Note, W/PC 2-5hp increase, No PC gets stock HP, $900-1200
Yosh R77... Good Note, no PC, 2-5 increase, about $600
Jardine however says I should get a PC to prevent engine damage, the others said no PC necessary. Thats my concern...damage or no damage?
Has anyone just unhooked the servo cable to keep the stock baffle open? has this affected HP? |

Has anyone just unhooked the servo cable to keep the stock baffle open? has this affected HP? | I know people that have put a slip on and no PC111 and never had a problem, but I recommend doing it because it makes a difference. I also installed the Bazzaz Zbomb and it really makes a difference above 10,000 RPM...
I ran my bike for about 3,000 miles with the servo cable unhooked and never had a problem. |

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust Has anyone even looked at the Taylor Made full system? Go to racetaylormade.com. I looks and sounds the best! Two Brothers is nice, but it looks like a part of the bike is missing on the lower part of the body. Also, stick with a Power Commander instead of the Juice Box! ...unless you're installing a Two Brothers exhaust. |

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust With Taylormade, your paying 900-1200 for just LOOKS. There are no power gains worth the cost (even with the PC). No PC will get you STOCK HP, with a PC you get an avg of 2-3 hp across the range. |

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust Hey Guys,
Just fitted a Jardine RT5 slip on to my 08 blade and the MIL light is flashing. Any suggestions on how to stop it would be helpful.
Thanks |

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust Must add that I don't think it would be the servo cable as i had this disconnected before. There was another set of cables that i had to disconnect that wasn't mentioned in the instructions. This cable ran up to a plug under the left side of tank.. |

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust the only cable you need to disconnect is the servo motor,if you unplugged any thing else you need to re connect them.
after taking of the servo cable you need to turn the servo motor back to the way it was before you disconnected it
or you will be in limp mode |

By the way, if anyone is thinking about getting a Jardine pipe, you might want to get some ear plugs....for your neighbours |

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust I've just installed two brothers on my blade and the sound is amazing I've noticed though that the restriction during shift changes is gone but I think I need a power commander or juice box to get the max potential of the slip on |

| Re: Fireblade 08 - Aftermarket Exhaust My Jardine slip on feels good and sounds great through the mid range but not so good down low. Sounds and feels like its running on 3 cylinders. My local shop suggested getting a BMC filter before going for the expense of a PC 3. Has anyone done the filter mod first?? Or should i just reach into the pocket and go for the PC? |

Originally Posted by Rich22 I get 12bhp throughout the range full yoshi pc111 | I hear what you're saying, but are you comparing apples with apples? I don't think many aftermarket slipons get much more than a few hp extra if any, although they seem to fill in the hole at the bottom end. The full yoshi pc111 you describe - can you tell me how much it cost? I looked at the Yoshi website, and the carbon/Ti full system was $1599 (US I expect) and the pc111 plus tune would be about $1000? At the current US/Aus exchange rate, that would be almost $4000..... If there's a cheap option, I'd be keen to hear about it!
If most aftermarket slipons produce marginal performance gains, then it's probably about weight, sound and looks more than anything - true? Then there's personal choice.
Look forward to any info you can provide. Thanks. |
