| tyre choice cbr1000rr 2007 fireblade I'm due for my first tyre change on the Blade and the bog standard pirelli corsa is crap, one compound all over. I'm looking for a tyre that is hard along the center line and soft along the sides. Which is the best ??? Dunlop Sportmax D208, Michelin Pilot Sport or Pirelli ?? |

| Re: tyre choice cbr1000rr 2007 fireblade I just put that new Michelin Pilot on my bike with the hard compound in the center and softer sides. It still hooks up great and will last a long, long time. I have always been impressed with Michelin and I run them up front and back. |

| Re: tyre choice cbr1000rr 2007 fireblade I've also had good luck with Corsa III's.
I just got a set of Diablo Rosso's put on last week. So far so good. |

| Re: tyre choice cbr1000rr 2007 fireblade corsa3's worked really really well. i've gotten 2600 miles out of a rear, and i've gotten 1500 miles out of a rear.
on the street i find the cheap qualifiers work just as good as the Corsa3's though. they just don't seem to last as long. |

| Re: tyre choice cbr1000rr 2007 fireblade Hi Guys,
tell me about the Corsa III's wet weather performance...do they still work well ?, they look more like a Michelin PP Race or Metzler Rennsport with little in the way of wet weather grip...
Cheers, Spanky. |

| Re: tyre choice cbr1000rr 2007 fireblade Straight line acceleration and braking performance are good. Actually, I was quite surprised how much they inspired confident braking in the wet. I didn't feel all that comfortable at moderate lean angles (but then again I don't do that much wet weather riding). |

Lanzarote is one of my favourite holiday destinations.
My brother has a place in Puerto Del Carmen. We were all there last August.

| Re: tyre choice cbr1000rr 2007 fireblade Why are you called...splatty?????? Or dare I ask
Yeah man, the weather is on the up at last so as i've just finished work...its time to play !!!!!
The new tyre everyone is a Michelin Pilot Sport, and it is........excellent compared to the Pirelli Corsa....which in my mind should NEVER have been put on the bike in the first place!!! Dangerous just dangerous....but ever onward now and time for some twisty stuff and long fast stuff !! |

| Re: tyre choice cbr1000rr 2007 fireblade I always see great comments on the Corsa IIIs. Has anyone ran the Super Corsas or are they over kill for street use. There are about $100 more than the Corsa IIIs. Is it possible to get them hot enough on the street? |

| Re: tyre choice cbr1000rr 2007 fireblade Michelin or Pirelli ? ? Well the change to Michelin did'nt last long !! As the soon as the tyre scrubbed up and I started to get some serious riding on the go I was very dissapointed.
Turns out the mIchelin is waaaayy to soft for the Blade's power, and as for the cornering....waaaayy to soft and squidgey.
I'm back on Corsa's all round and they are def the best tyre for the bike...so sorry Honda...yes you are right ! !
Thanks for everyone's post on this subject you've all helped loads.
I've now on my third tyre on the back as I've just clocked up 10,000kilometres in just over 4 months, yes 4 months !!! Can't keep of it, it's amazing !!! |
