This valve also aids in maintaining low end torque. with the valve closed, it allows back pressure to build, which in turn allows the engine to MAINTAIN torque levels at low RPM. At 5600 RPM the engine is making plenty of torque, and the valve opens to allow gasses to flow easier, which allows the engine to MAKE more high end torque, which, through a mathematical equation, is translated into horse power.
To answer the question, the valve is not needed. You may notice a slight hesitation in your low end acceleration. This is nothing a good power commander tuner can't take care of though. |
